Brief description:
The Maintenance Team Member is a resource person for students, staff and parents. Subject to the overall responsibility of the Head of Facilities and Security, the Maintenance Team Member shall be responsible for carrying out the maintenance of the school physical plant.

Profile: (training, experience, skills and aptitudes necessary to do the job)
- Formal technical school diploma or professional experience in relevant professional area:
- General maintenance
- Sanitation, heating / ventilation & air conditioning
- Knowledge and experience in Luxembourg building safety and security codes preferred;
- Experience in fire safety;
- Conversational in English, Luxembourgish, German and French;
- Driver's license “B” to drive tractor or van;
- Good computer skills;
- Experience in education would be helpful.

Among main responsibilities:
Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible as the contact person for all heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sanitary equipment and installations in all buildings
- Ensure that showers, washbasins, toilets remain in excellent working order,
- Ensure that all ventilation, heating, air conditioning and sanitation equipment and installations remain in excellent working order,
- Try to resolve reported problems before calling the supplier.
- Ensure that heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sanitary facilities are regularly maintained, inspected and recorded in the maintenance manual
- Ensure that heating, ventilation, air conditioning and sanitary facilities are properly maintained by external suppliers and recorded in the maintenance manual
Other general maintenance responsibilities:
- Ensure information concerning the buildings, grounds, safety and security is passed on to the Facility Managers and/or Head of Facilities and Security in a timely manner;
- Ensure the dispatch of orders received at ISL to classrooms and offices.
- Responsible for conducting general building and grounds maintenance work;
- Responsible for set-up and break down of facilities to support the needs of the school programme;
- Ensure the safety of students, staff and parents in the buildings and around the grounds:
- Keep entryways to buildings clean and clear in all weather
- Remove snow and ice during the winter months
- Distribute salt as necessary around the grounds
- Ensure general building and grounds security (ie doors locked, gates secured,);
- Assume responsibility as fire warden (ensure building evacuated, put out fire if necessary)
- Such other duties as the Head of Facilities and Security or the Director may assign.
