We are looking for a
Conducting Officer of Valuation to join our fast-growing, dynamic and entrepreneurial
3rd
party Management Company (UCITS/AIFM) based in Luxembourg.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the Luxembourg based Management Company and the funds are fully compliant to all the relevant rules and regulations.

The Conducting Officer in charge of Valuation will be a member of the Management Committee and reports to the Board.

If you are not already a Conducting Officer, then we will expect you to become one when you join. We are looking for someone with proven leadership skills, who is empathetic, collaborative and results driven. This role would suit an agile and dynamic leader with excellent communication and listening skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Based in the Luxembourg office, lead the valuation role and identify valuation related risks of our UCITS and AIF funds.
  • Specific focus on the overall management of the valuation and monitoring/oversight process across our private equity, private debt, real estate investments of Level 3 type
  • Chair the AIFM's valuation committee and monitor hard to value assets and associated processes including proposals & models (cash flow forecasts, construction of risk discount factor, model assumptions), maintain appropriate documentation and minutes.
  • Followup in the fund NAVs to assure appropriate asset pricing has been sourced.
  • Maintain and update valuation policies, procedures, draft policies for new funds under launch.
  • Recommend corrective measures, ensure a followup of identified deficiencies/issues, supervise their implementation and ensure corrective measures.
  • Be the point of contact with the delegated Portfolio Managers to understand and source underlying asset pricing, valuation models, financial models.
  • As a part of the Conducting Officers team, report to the Board on regular basis as well on issues and deficiencies observed as regards procedures and policies as well as any measure taken
  • Assist in the preparation of the board reports specifically covering the valuation part for both the Manco. and the funds under supervision
  • Ensure smooth relationship with supervisory authority and auditors,
  • Formalize and strengthen the company's procedures to constantly improve operational effectiveness,
  • Advise the team on developments on laws, regulation, rules and standards which might have an impact on the company,
  • Liaise with group valuation colleagues to adherence to the wider group's high valuation standards are applied to the Lux Manco/AIFM.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in finance or economics or relevant business experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Fund Services business and processes
  • Minimum 10 years of handson experience with specific focus on asset valuation, preferably within a Management Company or Big4 in corporate finance, transaction
- or risk advisory.

  • Good analytical skills and understanding of mathematical finance and financial modelling skills;
  • Good understanding of the accounting and regulatory environment in Luxembourg for asset managers (LuxGaap, IFRS, UCITS Law 2010, IPEV guidelines, AIFMD);
  • Direct experience in private equity, credit, real estate valuation will be highly valued.
  • Direct experience dealing with the CSSF, Fund Admins, external asset managers, valuation agents.
  • Good command of Excel, Word and excellent PowerPoint
  • Solutiondriven and resultsoriented, problem solving attitude, constructive mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on various time scales, strong followup, prioritization and a team player.
  • Proven experience and appetite to deploy concepts and ideas in practice.
  • The ability and desire to create a strong compliance culture.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn.
Fluency in English, any additional European language will be an advantage.
