Senior Business Analyst – ERP Financial Transformation (EU Institution via Unisys)


Role Overview


Our client a prestigious European institution at the heart of the EU’s financial architecture, is seeking a dedicated Business Analyst to contribute to its mission of fostering sustainable growth, innovation, and cohesion across Europe. As the lending arm of the European Union, this institution plays a pivotal role in financing strategic projects that strengthen economic resilience, accelerate the green and digital transitions, and support communities in all member states.


We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support a large-scale ERP Financials Transformation programme. The role focuses on the definition, structuring and documentation of the Target Operating Model (TOM), business requirements and procurement-related deliverables.

You will play a key role in ensuring that business processes are aligned with standard ERP capabilities and market best practices, while challenging legacy-driven approaches and driving simplification.


Key Responsibilities


  • Define, structure and document: Target Operating Model (TOM), Business processes and capabilities and Business and functional requirements
  • Support ERP tool selection and system integrator procurement activities
  • Ensure all deliverables (use cases, requirements, analyses) are: Structured, Traceable a,d Suitable for formal procurement processes
  • Perform and support: Fit/gap analysis, Solution assessment, Business input structuring
  • Lead and structure workshops with business stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Challenge existing processes and promote: Standardisation, Simplification and Alignment with ERP best practices
  • Produce high-quality documentation (process maps, requirements, analysis outputs)
  • Contribute to decision-making by providing structured analysis and clear options


Functional Scope


Strong focus on Accounting and Financial Reporting processes, including:

  • General Ledger
  • Accounting mandates
  • Financial closing
  • Reconciliations
  • Financial reporting


Project Context


The programme is delivered in phases:

  • Phase 1: Definition of a solution-agnostic Target Operating Model and ERP tool selection
  • Phase 2: Translation into contractual requirements and system integrator procurement

The consultant will support both phases with a strong emphasis on structured analysis and ERP expertise.


Profile Requirements


Mandatory Qualifications & Experience


  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting frameworks
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis, finance transformation or ERP-related projects
  • Extensive experience (typically 10–15 years) in: Business analysis, ERP transformation programmes, Large-scale process transformation
  • Proven experience in: Defining Target Operating Models, Structuring business processes and requirements and ERP implementation programmes (SAP, Oracle or equivalent)
  • Experience with: Fit/gap analysis, ERP solution assessment and ERP selection and/or system integrator procurement
  • Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments


Preferred Experience


  • 15 years in finance transformation or ERP programmes
  • Experience with ERP accounting modules (GL, closing, reporting)
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g. financial institutions or public sector)
  • Strong understanding of ERP market practices and standard capabilities
