Senior Mechanical & Thermal Engineer – Space Systems | Luxembourg | €80,000 – €100,000 p.a.
Damia Group is working exclusively with a fast-growing space technology company based in Luxembourg to appoint a Senior Mechanical & Thermal Engineer.
Our client is developing next-generation laser communication terminals for space-to-ground connectivity — cutting-edge hardware that will play a central role in the future of satellite data transfer. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, highly capable engineering team at the heart of a genuinely novel space programme, with real influence over design decisions and product direction.
The Role
You'll take ownership of mechanical and thermal engineering activities across the full product lifecycle — from concept and analysis through to manufacturing, assembly, integration and test. Working closely with optical, electronic and systems engineers, you'll help shape hardware that has to perform reliably in one of the most demanding environments there is.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading mechanical and thermal design, modelling and simulation for space and ground hardware
- Specifying and overseeing manufacturing, assembly and integration activities
- Supporting environmental and functional test campaigns
- Producing clear, high-quality technical documentation
- Collaborating cross-functionally within a small, close-knit engineering team
What We're Looking For
- A master's degree in Mechanical/Thermal Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong hands-on experience in mechanical and thermal engineering, ideally within space, aerospace or another highly regulated technical sector
- Proficiency with CAD and FEA tools
- Practical experience of prototyping, manufacturing and assembly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- A collaborative, detail-oriented approach and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
What's On Offer
- €80,000 – €100,000 per annum, depending on experience
- Based in Luxembourg
- The chance to work on genuinely pioneering space technology
- A flexible, flat-structured working environment within a small international team
