Position: Senior Observability Engineer

Location: Luxembourg (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

Application Observability & Monitoring

Implement and scale observability solutions across applications and services (logs, metrics, traces).
Consolidate Dynatrace, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana into a unified visualization and monitoring ecosystem.
Define KPIs and build global dashboards for application health, latency, and error rates.
Enable distributed tracing for microservices and API architectures.
Deploy ML‑based correlation and anomaly detection to identify performance trends and root causes.

Enterprise Architecture Design

Define the target Elastic Enterprise cluster architecture.
Design cost‑optimized data tiering strategies (Hot/Warm/Cold).
Implement enterprise‑grade RBAC, governance, and lifecycle management.

Legacy Migrations

Lead the full migration from Splunk to ELK.
Decommission Splunk forwarders and deploy Elastic Agents.
Migrate Newtest/Ekara user‑journey scenarios to modern synthetic testing solutions.
Integrate synthetic testing results with Elastic APM.

Observability Governance & Continuous Improvement

Establish monitoring standards and performance KPIs for the Elastic platform.
Work closely with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to embed Observability‑as‑Code into CI/CD (GitLab).
Define alerting, correlation strategies, and best practices for incident detection and root‑cause analysis.

Experience & Background

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent senior experience in Observability Engineering.
Strong experience with Splunk‑to‑ELK migrations.
Deep knowledge of Elastic Stack clustering, ILM, and data tiering.
Experience with synthetic testing; Typescript/Playwright is a plus.
Hands‑on experience with Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus in cloud/microservices environments (AWS/Azure).
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitLab).
Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker for automated monitoring deployments.
