We are looking for our next EMEA Head of Accounting & Treasury - Private Markets based in Luxembourg

In this role you'll be sponsible for leading the accounting and treasury function across the firm’s institutional private markets platform, including real estate, private equity, and private credit. You will oversee both the in-house accounting oversight team, third-party fund administrators, and treasury operations. You will collaboratively across the organization to support investment decisions, provide sound accounting guidance on complex transactions, control operating costs, and build scalable infrastructure to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting, Treasury & Performance
  • Lead and manage the in-house accounting oversight team responsible for private market investments.
  • Act as subject matter expert for the team and provide sound accounting guidance on complex transactions, including deal structuring, valuation, and fair value accounting.
  • Oversee relationships with third-party fund administrators, ensuring service quality, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Establish appropriate internal oversight review procedures, taking into consideration operational efficiencies, risk areas, and materiality thresholds.
  • Implement and monitor controls, KPIs, and performance metrics to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with expectations and SLAs.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures tailored to private markets.
  • Oversee treasury management activities performed internally and externally.

Financial Reporting & Controls
  • Liaise and coordinate with the corporate office, ensuring efficient, accurate, and timely flow of information, effective accounts payable/receivable management, and proactive risk management.
  • Oversee auditor selections and relationships; serve as escalation point.

Strategic Collaboration & Business Support
  • Ensure alignment between investment objectives and accounting treatment, including implications for financial reporting, tax, and investor communications.
  • Participate in private markets-wide initiatives and integration.
  • Partner with legal, tax, and operations teams to evaluate transaction risks and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
  • Contribute to cost control initiatives by identifying process improvements and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Support the development of infrastructure, systems, and processes to scale business growth and complexity, including SOC-1 readiness, implementation, and internal/external audit coordination for internal fund accounting oversight and treasury operations.
  • Contribute to RFPs, due diligence and onboarding of new products/clients.
  • Maintain an understanding of each fund’s/portfolio’s financial positions, business plans, and KPIs and be able to respond to Board Members, Conducting Officers, key internal stakeholders, and client questions where applicable.
  • Willingness and ability to take on directorships.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Build and lead a high-performing accounting team with expertise in private markets.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Provide mentorship and training to develop technical and leadership capabilities within the team.
