Our client is an alternative investments fund manager (AIFM).
They seek a Risk Officer at a Senior Associate level, targeting those with 4-5 years of Big 4 experience, including risk management. Ideally, you will be a Senior II or Senior III and you must demonstrate employer stability on your CV plus experience in Luxembourg.
The position will mirror the format of a graduate program, but for experienced professionals.
You will work in the Risk Management team (approx. 2 years), then be able to rotate internally and work in other business lines. This will give you practical experience in different teams within an AIFM, consequently giving you valuable exposure to the whole workings of an AIFM and enabling you to obtain a transversal view of the business.
Risk management team responsibilities:
- Draft and update risk profiles
- Monitor, identify and assess fund related risk
- Implement risk mitigation strategies
- Review deals prior to transaction and provide a risk profile
- Monitor the funds’ compliance with investment restrictions and guidelines
- Provide updated risk information for regulatory reporting requirements
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Be comfortable in a dynamic, demanding and fast-paced environment that rewards effort
- Work in fluent English to an excellent standard
- Have excellent academic qualifications, ideally in a Finance related subject
- Have significant hands-on expertise in a high calibre finance firm in Luxembourg, with strong knowledge alternative investment funds
- Be in a Big 4 (consulting, risk management, valuation) at Senior II or Senior III (not more senior, or more junior)...or within a AIFM at the same level with relevant private markets industry expertise.
- Salary will be commensurate with experience as defined internally
- Good knowledge of the Luxembourg regulatory environment pertaining to AIFs
- Be proactive, solution orientated, curious
- Have experience of working on transformation projects or change management or enhancing the business using AI
