Internship – Investment Operations & Portfolio Support

Duration: 6 Months - Internship
Location: Luxembourg – Findel

Klarphos is a Luxembourg-headquartered Asset Manager specialized in customized portfolio solutions and advisory services for institutional clients. Klarphos concentrates its asset management capabilities on a wide selection of assets such as Alternative Investments (Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Private Debt, VC / Growth), Derivatives and exchange traded products (ETPs). It also provides analysis for tailored strategic asset allocation and more customized services for its clients.

Your key responsibilities:

Trade Operations & Settlement

  • Support the full trade lifecycle, including booking checks, confirmations, and settlement monitoring.
  • Preparation and monitoring of cash movements (subscriptions/redemptions, FX, margin calls, IRS interest, etc.).
  • Follow up with custodians, brokers, and fund administrators to resolve settlement or instruction issues.
  • Monitor the group inbox, triage incoming items, and route them to appropriate owners.

Reconciliations & Controls

  • Perform cash, position, and trade reconciliations between internal records and external custodians.
  • Investigate and resolve breaks, ensuring accurate reporting and control documentation.
  • Support month-end EMIR control checks and ensure data completeness.

Process Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Maintain and enhance internal trackers, databases, and process documentation.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, Compliance, Risk, and IT to support operational needs.
  • Support new investment setups, fund launches, and document workflows.
  • Assist with due diligence, audit requests, and ad-hoc operational projects.

Your Profile:

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn. The ideal candidate will have:

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
  • Basic understanding of financial instruments (funds, equities, FX, derivatives) is a plus.
  • Solid Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Clear and professional communication style.
  • Proactive, reliable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.

Languages

  • English required (written & spoken).
  • Additional languages are a plus.

Mindset

  • Curious, resourceful, and eager to develop hands-on experience in investment operations.
  • Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to support colleagues across different functions.
