Luxembourg Type: Permanent | Full-time | Hybrid Working Summary Cobalt Recruitment are partnering with a established international investment business to appoint a German-speaking Fund Accountant to join their growing Luxembourg finance team. This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of alternative investments, working across fund and SPV structures within a collaborative and high-performing finance function. You'll play a key role in the accounting and financial reporting of investment vehicles while working closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure accurate financial management and regulatory compliance. This position would suit an ambitious accounting professional looking to further develop their expertise within funds and alternative investments, whilst benefiting from long-term career progression. The Role You will support the accounting, reporting and financial management of a portfolio of alternative funds and SPV structures. Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day accounting activities across fund and SPV entities
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including period-end close activities
- Preparing and reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Recording investment transactions, acquisitions, disposals, financing activities and operating expenses
- Monitoring intercompany balances, loan accounting and supporting consolidated reporting where required
- Assisting with the preparation and review of Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and investor reporting
- Preparing statutory financial statements in accordance with Lux GAAP and supporting IFRS reporting where applicable
- Managing bank reconciliations, treasury activities and cash flow monitoring across multiple entities
- Processing and overseeing payments relating to operating expenses, financing activities and investment structures
- Supporting external audits and coordinating with auditors, tax advisers and third-party service providers
- Assisting with tax reporting, VAT submissions and other Luxembourg regulatory filing requirements
- Ensuring strong financial controls and compliance across all reporting activities
- Building effective relationships with investment, asset management and operational teams to support business decision-making About You
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline
- Minimum two years' accounting experience within fund administration, alternative investments or SPV accounting
- Good understanding of Luxembourg investment structures and the local fund environment (AIF, RAIF, SICAV, SCSp, SOPARFI) would be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of Lux GAAP, with IFRS exposure considered beneficial
- Experience preparing financial statements and working within multi-entity environments
- Strong Excel skills; experience with SAP or a similar ERP system would be advantageous
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced investment environment
- A proactive team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is an essential requirement for this position.
