2027 Spring Internship – Liquidity Risk

- Candidates must be enrolled at University (Bachelor's or Master's) for the whole time of the internship, alternatively; gap year between Bachelor's and Master's studies.
- Advanced English; German language beneficial but not required.
- Student in the field of economics, quantitive finance, mathematics or related subject. The Opportunity Join a leading global asset management organisation and gain practical experience within an international Liquidity Risk team. This internship offers exposure to individual projects, industry speakers, networking opportunities and day-to-day collaboration with experienced professionals. You will receive support from mentors and managers while developing valuable knowledge of asset management, investment risk and financial markets. Subject to performance, successful interns may be considered for a place on the organisation’s graduate programme the following year. The Team The Liquidity Risk team provides independent oversight and assessment of liquidity risk across investment funds in Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific. The team helps ensure that investment portfolios remain resilient under both normal and stressed market conditions. It works closely with Portfolio Management, Product, Operations and global Risk teams to monitor liquidity profiles, meet regulatory and governance requirements, and enhance liquidity-risk frameworks, tools and processes. What You’ll Be Doing As a Liquidity Risk Intern, you will:
- Support the daily oversight of risk analytics for investment funds managed in Luxembourg.
- Conduct risk assessments across different asset classes, investment strategies and funds.
- Analyse fund-liquidity profiles under normal and stressed market conditions.
- Review risk models and investigate model parameters and updates.
- Support global and local Risk Management projects.
- Review risk results and fund-risk profiles alongside senior risk managers.
- Collaborate with investment specialists, analysts and risk colleagues across locations including Frankfurt, Berlin, London, Hong Kong and New York. What We’re Looking For You should be:
- Currently studying economics, quantitative finance, mathematics or a related subject.
- Highly analytical, with strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for your work.
- Interested in financial markets, asset management and investment-risk management.
- Familiar with financial instruments such as equities, fixed-income securities and derivatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills would be advantageous.
- Motivated by the opportunity to work within an international environment. Experience with Python, SQL or VBA would be particularly valuable.
