Location:
Luxembourg (Hybrid) We are seeking a Senior UHF Payload Systems Engineer to support the development of advanced satellite communications services delivered from a next-generation MEO satellite constellation. You will play a key role in defining the end-to-end UHF service architecture, translating mission requirements into payload specifications, conducting system analyses and supporting integration, verification and in-orbit validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define end-to-end UHF service and payload architectures.
- Translate mission requirements into system and payload-level specifications.
- Perform design trade-offs across coverage, power, SWaP and performance.
- Conduct RF, link budget and system-level performance analyses.
- Define interfaces between the payload, spacecraft platform, ground segment and user terminals.
- Work with payload, terminal and subsystem suppliers on technical specifications and test plans.
- Support integration, verification and validation (IVV), including payload AIT and in-orbit testing.
- Contribute to simulation tools, modelling and digital twins for payload performance.
- Support technical risk and de-risking activities throughout development. Technical Knowledge
- Satellite communications architectures and link budgets
- RF propagation and performance effects
- UHF satcom systems and waveforms
- Mobility and Doppler effects
- MEO/NGSO system behaviour
- Payload architecture and spacecraft interfaces
