Luxembourg / Frankfurt Contract: Freelance Duration: Initial assignment, with potential extension Language: German & English Rate: Open (depending on experience) The Opportunity We are supporting a leading Asset Management / Fund Administration organisation that is looking for a Senior Fund Accounting Consultant to support a range of transformation, process improvement and business support initiatives within its Fund Accounting function. This is a hands-on consulting assignment suited to someone who combines strong Fund Accounting expertise with Business Analysis / transformation experience, and who can operate confidently between business, operations, IT and external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Fund Accounting across operational and project teams.
- Analyse and optimise NAV calculation, Fund Accounting and financial reporting processes.
- Gather, analyse and document business requirements, translating them into actionable solutions.
- Support fund migration, transformation and platform enhancement projects.
- Work closely with Business, IT, Operations and external service providers to coordinate requirements and deliverables.
- Support UAT, testing, implementation and change management activities.
- Provide specialist knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and related regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and operational efficiency.
- Support stakeholders through changes to Fund Administration processes and systems.
Your Profile
- 5+ years' experience in Fund Accounting, Fund Administration, Asset Management or a closely related environment.
- Strong practical understanding of Fund Accounting and NAV calculation.
- Experience working with UCITS and/or AIF investment funds.
- Previous experience in Business Analysis, transformation, change or business consulting.
- Strong knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB).
- Experience supporting fund migrations, system implementations or process transformation is highly desirable.
- Comfortable working across business and technology teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Fluent English is essential.
- Professional proficiency in German is required.
