About the positionYour mission is to assemble, wire, rework and inspect printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and harnesses for our space products, in accordance with controlled manufacturing documentation and applicable requirements.

Key responsibilities
• Prepare components, tools and consumables; verify part numbers, revisions and instructions before starting work.
• Perform surface-mount and through-hole assembly, manual soldering and component replacement, including fine-pitch components.
• Operate production equipment for solder paste deposition, automated placement and vapour-phase soldering; assist with setup and changeovers.
• Build cables and harnesses: cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, connector assembly and pinout verification.
• Carry out authorised rework, repairs and modifications using IPC-7711/7721 and approved procedures.
• Inspect PCBAs against IPC-A-610 and harnesses against IPC/WHMA-A-620; report defects and contribute to their investigation.
• Perform cleaning, bonding and conformal coating as specified; follow ESD, cleanliness and handling procedures.
• Record operations and inspections in production systems; maintain traceability and help improve methods with Industrialisation, AIT and Quality teams. Preferred skills
• Ability to interpret schematics, assembly drawings, bills of materials and wiring documentation.
• Proficiency in IPC-A-610 (electronic assembly acceptance), IPC/WHMA-A-620 (cable and harness requirements and acceptance) and IPC-7711/7721 (rework, modification and repair).
• Relevant IPC certifications are required and must be current or renewed before independently performing the corresponding activities.
• Ability to apply Class 3 criteria where specified by manufacturing documentation and customer requirements.
• Practical experience with microscope work, soldering and crimping tools, and basic electrical checks.
• Knowledge of ESD controls; experience in cleaning, coating, ECSS/ESA requirements or cleanrooms is an advantage.
• Ability to use ERP/MES systems for traceability; familiarity with Altium Designer is an advantage. Profile required
• Technical education in electronics, electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in PCBA assembly and wiring, with regular hands-on soldering and inspection work.
• Experience in space, aerospace, defence or high-reliability electronics is an advantage.
• Precision, manual dexterity, autonomy and attention to detail; ability to follow controlled instructions and report anomalies.
• Collaborative approach and confidence using digital tools to complete manufacturing records and communicate progress.
