(Senior) Structured Finance Analyst

The International Corporates Credit Department supports leveraged buyouts and structured finance transactions as part of the First Line of Defence. In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Credit Analysis Corporates and work closely with Origination, internal decision-makers and external advisers. (Senior) Structured Finance Analyst (m/f/d) Responsibilities
• Lead the credit underwriting and internal approval process for complex international leveraged buyout and structured finance transactions in line with HCOB’s prudent underwriting standards and credit policies.
• Act as a senior sparring partner to Origination, identifying key credit risks and developing appropriate structural mitigants.
• Perform in-depth transaction analysis, including business and industry assessment, capital structure review, financial statement analysis, cash flow modelling, downside scenarios and evaluation of credit enhancement features.
• Prepare high-quality credit applications and present transactions to senior decision-makers and internal credit committees.
• Lead the credit workstream during documentation and execution, including negotiation of key financing terms in close cooperation with Legal, Origination, clients and external counsel.
• Coordinate the transaction process with the responsible back-office and portfolio management functions.
• Monitor existing exposures, prepare regular and ad hoc credit reviews, and assess waiver and amendment requests.
• Make credit decisions within delegated authority and contribute to the continued development of underwriting standards and portfolio quality.

Your profile
• Extensive experience in analysing, structuring and underwriting complex international leveraged buyout and structured finance transactions.
• A university degree or comparable professional qualification in finance, economics, business administration, banking or a related field.
• Strong credit judgement and advanced analytical skills, including financial modelling and downside analysis.
• Ability to take ownership, prioritise effectively and deliver consistently high-quality results under time pressure.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, including confidence in presenting to senior management and board-level stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders across functions and locations.
• Full professional proficiency in English; German language skills are an advantage but not required. What’s in it for you
