About Us

L.
A., one of Luxembourg’s leading mobility operators, you will join a small planning team of five and work on real optimisation problems with a visible, daily impact on public transport. Turn complexity into a plan that moves thousands of people every day Good bus planning starts long before vehicles leave the depot. It means turning timetables, driver working-time rules and vehicle availability into efficient, robust schedules. Your mission You will analyse constraints, compare scenarios and optimise how drivers and vehicles are allocated to build plans that work over the long term. What you will do
• Build and optimise driver and vehicle schedules, working with a professional planning system (IVU) and your own analyses.
• Find the best balance between service coverage, regulatory compliance and efficient use of resources.
• Anticipate capacity gaps and propose scenarios before they become problems.
• Work hand in hand with Dispatch, who manage operations in real time, and with depot managers, to turn plans into reality on the ground.
• Build dashboards and KPIs on coverage, resource utilisation, hours and plan stability, and use them to drive decisions.
• Improve data quality, system parameters and processes, and help us automate and digitalise how we plan. Who you are
• You have a degree in engineering, operations research, data science, mathematics, logistics or a related field.
• You have 1 to 3 years of experience in planning, scheduling, logistics or operations, or strong internships or projects in these areas. Public transport, aviation, rail or any 24/7 environment is a plus.
• You are very comfortable working with data and have advanced Excel skills. Familiarity with SQL, Python or BI tools is a plus.
• You enjoy structured problem solving and can explain your reasoning clearly to non-technical colleagues.
• You are fluent in both English and French, as you will work daily with Dispatch and depot teams. German or Luxembourgish are a real plus.
• You stay calm and practical when plans change, and you like working in a team. Nice to have, not required Experience with a planning or optimisation tool (IVU or similar: crew scheduling, rostering, workforce management). We will train you on our system. Why join us
• A hands-on role where your work is visible every day on the road.
• Real room to improve tools, data and processes, not just to maintain them.
• Training on professional planning software, a skill that is rare and in demand in the sector.
• A small, close team and a direct line to the Head of Planning.
• A 75-year-old family-owned company with a public service mission and a strong focus on the future of mobility in Luxembourg. SLG values diversity and is committed to providing equal opportunities to all qualified individuals, regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age or disability.
