The team that you will join: You will be based in Luxembourg and report to the Head of Financial Operations and Finance Shared Services. You will work closely with underwriting, claims, finance, brokers, reinsurers, and management to ensure that reinsurance balances, settlements, reconciliations, and technical accounting records are accurate, timely, and aligned with contractual requirements. You will flourish if you are: Detail-oriented professional with strong follow-through capabilities Comfortable working with reinsurance premiums, claims, commissions, taxes, retrocession balances, and settlements Practical, hands-on, and disciplined in managing controls, reconciliations, and outstanding items Able to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and support clear corrective actions A confident communicator who can work effectively with brokers, reinsurers, underwriters, claims teams, and finance stakeholders You will be successful if you have: 2 to 5 years of experience in technical accounting, reinsurance accounting, insurance accounting, finance operations, or a similar role A good understanding of reinsurance technical accounting processes, including statements, bordereaux, reconciliations, claims, commissions, and retrocession balances Strong accounts receivable and accounts payable knowledge within an insurance or reinsurance environment Strong Excel and data-handling skills, with the ability to work accurately with large volumes of financial and underwriting data Experience preparing periodic reports, reconciliations, statements, or production reports in a controlled finance environment What you will do: As Life Technical Accountant, you will support the accurate and timely calculation, booking, reconciliation, control, and settlement of reinsurance technical accounting balances across Barents Reinsurance S.
A.’s Life business. You will prepare periodical contributions, statements, bordereaux, quarterly production reports, and related technical accounting outputs, maintain accurate reinsurance records, and process premiums, claims settlements, commissions, retrocession payments, return premiums, taxes, and other reinsurance-related transactions, helping ensure that balances are followed up, discrepancies are resolved, and technical accounting data is complete and reliable.
