Level: Mid-level, 2 to 4 years of experience

Oberkorn, Luxembourg Contract: Permanent (CDI) Work mode: On-site
About Us
VELVET FLARE is a Luxembourg-based creative technology company specialising in the research, development and manufacture of innovative technologies for the cultural and creative industries. We develop software that supports every stage of the creative process: our applications make advanced creative tools accessible through intuitive interfaces, without compromising on their power. Our solutions include Fluo, a creative writing assistant, and Flow, a mobile app dedicated to choreography and the exploration of movement. We also design hardware and embedded systems for professionals in the performing arts, audiovisual sector, interactive installations and immersive experiences, combining electronics, embedded computing, sensors, networks and software to meet the demands of professional productions. The Role You will work directly alongside our lead developer as a true generalist, moving across native Mac/iOS development and the web. Required Skills On the language side, you are comfortable in C, Swift and JavaScript. On the web, you have hands-on experience with at least one modern front-end framework (React, Vue, Svelte, Angular or similar), with Node.js, and a solid understanding of the client-server paradigm and REST APIs. On the data side, you know how to design relational databases and write SQL. Git is part of your everyday tooling. Strong organisational skills, adaptability in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment and the ability to explain technical workflows and concepts to non-technical collaborators all matter as much as technical depth. Fluency in English is required; French is an advantage. Nice to Have Experience with C++, C#, TypeScript, SwiftUI or Docker is a plus. What You'll Work On Your work will span native macOS/iOS development in Swift and SwiftUI, Swift on Linux for server-side and tooling work, and web front-ends with Node.js back-ends.
What We Offer
We offer
a permanent contract (CDI) with an attractive salary based on experience, and a wide technical scope spanning native apps, web and server-side development. You will join a small, multidisciplinary team spanning software, hardware and creative practice, with direct impact on real cultural and live-performance productions. Our office sits right next to Oberkorn train station, easily accessible from France, Belgium and Germany. Working Conditions This is a full-time role based at the Velvet Flare studio in Oberkorn, Luxembourg, which may involve fieldwork, sometimes abroad, to set up immersive artworks. Our Commitment to Diversity and Equal Opportunity As an active part of a culturally and socially diverse society, Velvet Flare is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce and acts as an equal-opportunity employer. Employees and job applicants are treated according to their merit, qualifications, competence and talent, without regard to sex, race, religion, origin, age, sexual orientation, marital status, medical condition or disability. Application Send us your CV along with a link to your portfolio or GitHub, to hello@velvetflare.com.
