We are looking for an experienced Advanced Full Stack Software Engineer to join a major European digital transformation programme based in Luxembourg. You will contribute to the development, evolution and modernisation of large-scale information systems supporting European programmes and digital services. Working within an international and multicultural environment, you will help deliver innovative, secure and scalable applications while collaborating with architects, analysts, developers and business stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle, from user interface design and application development to API integration, cloud deployment and system optimisation.

What you'll do
• Design and develop modern front-end architectures using Angular.
• Build responsive and user-friendly web interfaces with high performance across different browsers and devices.
• Develop and maintain back-end applications using PHP and enterprise-grade technologies.
• Implement business logic and software components aligned with functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design, develop and maintain REST APIs and web services.
• Apply security best practices including authentication, authorisation, input validation, secure storage, logging and monitoring.
• Develop scalable, maintainable and high-quality software solutions.
• Perform code reviews, troubleshooting, debugging and issue resolution.
• Conduct unit and integration testing and validate software changes.
• Design and optimise database interactions and data models.
• Contribute to the migration and modernisation of legacy information systems.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across front-end and back-end components.
• Deploy and manage applications using cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines and containerisation technologies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and software lifecycle activities.
• Contribute to software architecture discussions and technical decision-making. What we're looking for
• University degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (typically a Master's degree or 5 years of higher education).
• Minimum 10 years of professional IT experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in software development.
• Minimum 10 years of experience developing Java and/or PHP applications.
• Minimum 10 years of experience with Angular.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Oracle WebLogic.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with XML and/or JSON.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with CSS.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with REST or SOAP APIs and Web Services.
• Strong experience developing enterprise web applications using Angular and PHP.
• Strong knowledge of Symfony and modern backend development practices.
• Experience with Java-based technologies, including Spring Boot and Hibernate.
• Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Experience designing and securing RESTful APIs and integration services.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows and source control management.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Azure Bicep.
• Understanding of authentication and authorisation standards including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect and JWT.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and scripting.
• Ability to integrate applications into CI/CD pipelines.
• Very good knowledge of both English and French (minimum B2 level).
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural and international environments. Nice to have
• Experience with the European Component Library (ECL).
• Experience with GitLab migration projects.
• Knowledge of PM² or PM²-Agile methodologies.
• Experience working within European Institutions or large public-sector organisations.
• AWS Certified Developer Associate certification.
• Microsoft Azure Developer Associate certification.
• Additional cloud certifications (AWS or Azure).
• Experience with legacy system modernisation and migration projects.
