A. (MIBL) is a Bank incorporated in Luxembourg and is fully owned by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation, member of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, one of the largest financial groups worldwide. MIBL provides a wide range of financial services to institutional investors including depositary, custody, fund administration and other banking-related services. The AML/KYC Associate is responsible for performing KYC/CDD activities throughout the client lifecycle, including onboarding, periodic reviews, remediation and the investigation of financial crime alerts. The role ensures that client information is complete, accurate and up to date, and that relevant AML/CFT risks are appropriately identified, documented and escalated.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform KYC/CDD reviews for new and existing clients.
• Review and verify client, UBO, ownership and control information.
• Conduct client risk assessments and Enhanced Due Diligence where required.
• Perform periodic and trigger-event reviews and KYC remediation.
• Review PEP, sanctions, name-screening and filtering alerts.
• Investigate transaction-monitoring alerts and assess activity against the client's KYC profile.
• Document alert investigations, decisions and supporting evidence.
• Escalate potential sanctions matches, unusual or potentially suspicious activity and other AML concerns in accordance with internal procedures.
• Liaise with first line and internal stakeholders to obtain and validate required information.
• Maintain accurate ecords and ensure timely completion of assigned cases.
• Support AML/KYC reporting, quality reviews, audits and regulatory requests. Profile & Experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Typically 4-5+ years of relevant experience in Financial Crime Compliance, Internal Audit, Risk or a comparable control function within financial services, including demonstrable experience performing independent monitoring or control testing.
• Certified Global Sanctions Specialist (CGSS) certification is a strong plus. The candidate should demonstrate:
• Strong knowledge of Luxembourg and EU AML/CFT requirements and regulatory expectations;
• Strong understanding of financial crime risks and associated control frameworks;
• Strong knowledge of CDD/EDD, sanctions, PEP, ongoing monitoring and transaction-monitoring frameworks;
• Ability to distinguish individual exceptions from systemic control weaknesses;
• Strong analytical, investigative and root-cause-analysis capabilities; Salary range: 88K.
