About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to build and run the financial backbone of our two-entity group (Luxembourg + UK). This is not a strategy or fundraising role, our external accountants handle bookkeeping and tax, and our fractional CFO owns budgeting, cashflow modelling and fundraising documentation. We are looking for someone who enjoys the cleanup and the build, not someone who wants to delegate the operational work. This role has a clear path to Head of Finance as the group scales. About Uplift360 Uplift360 is an Advanced Materials Company securing sovereign supply for Europe’s defence, security and vital industries. We secure and produce critical advanced materials, including carbon fibre and aramids, for European defence and industry by sourcing, recovering and regenerating high-value materials into secure industrial supply chains. As geopolitical instability, supply chain fragility and industrial competition intensify, access to advanced materials is becoming a defining strategic advantage. Uplift360 is building the infrastructure and technology required to secure it. As a Finance Manager, your key accountabilities will include: 1. Own day-to-day finance operations across both entities
• Execute and oversee AP/AR, payment runs, bank reconciliations, and cash positioning
• Prepare monthly management reporting packs
• Ensure intercompany transactions between Luxembourg and UK entities are properly recorded and reconciled
• Prepare documentation for the fractional CFO to use in budgets, cashflow models, and fundraising materials
• Monitor project budgets alongside technical directors 2. Lead our external accountants
• Be their primary point of contact
• Know which contracts, invoices, and supporting documents must be shared for accounting and tax purposes
• Review their outputs for accuracy before they hit the Ops director/fractional CFO 3. Build and document the finance infrastructure
• Map current-state processes and identify gaps, redundancies, and risks
• Select and implement fit-for-purpose tools
• Write the procedures manual: payment approvals, vendor onboarding, contract routing, month-end close checklist
• Establish spend approval thresholds and track commitments across both entities
• Work with the Ops Director to ensure procurement aligns with operational needs 4. Manage grant drawdowns and financial preparations for contracts and grant activities
• Track eligible costs against grant budgets and prepare drawdown requests
• Maintain a schedule of grant milestones, reporting deadlines, and drawdown timing
• Prepare the financial documentation required for contracts and grant activities
• Work with technical and project teams to ensure costs are captured and classified correctly against grant budgets Essential Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities:
• 6–8 years of hands-on finance operations experience in an SME, startup, or scale-up — you have personally executed payment runs, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
• Experience working with external accountants/fiduciaries, ideally in Luxembourg and UK
• Familiarity with Luxembourg Lux GAAP
• Experience handling multi-entity operations (Luxembourg + UK is ideal)
• Track record of building processes and tools, not inheriting them
• Fluent English; French is a plus Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities:
• Experience in manufacturing, deep tech, or circular economy
• Exposure to grant reporting (EU/UK programmes)
• Experience selecting and implementing finance tools (expense management, approval workflows, accounting interfaces) Why Join Uplift360?
