A. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AML/KYC Compliance Trainee to join its Compliance team. This traineeship offers practical exposure to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT), customer due diligence (CDD), know-your-customer (KYC) controls, sanctions compliance, and ongoing monitoring within a regulated financial-services environment. Working under the supervision of experienced Compliance professionals, the trainee will support the review and maintenance of customer files, conduct initial screening and research, assist with transaction-monitoring activities, and contribute to the effective operation of the company’s compliance framework. The position is particularly suited to a student or recent graduate seeking to build a career in Compliance, AML/CFT, financial crime prevention, payments, or fintech.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Due Diligence and KYC Support the collection, review, and organisation of KYC documentation for individual and corporate customers. Check customer files for completeness, accuracy, consistency, andvalidity. Assist in identifying and documenting customers, authorised representatives, directors, shareholders, and ultimate beneficial owners. Conduct initial risk-related research on customers, business activities, ownership structures, and relevant jurisdictions. Support periodic reviews and event-driven updates of existing customer files. Follow up internally on missing, expired, or incomplete documents. Screening and Financial Crime Controls Perform or support screening for sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs), adverse media, and other relevant risk indicators. Conduct an initial assessment of potential screening matches and prepare findings for review by a Compliance Officer. Escalate unusual information, inconsistencies, or potential red flags promptly and in accordance with internal procedures. Assist with documenting the rationale and evidence supporting the resolution of screening alerts. Transaction Monitoring and Ongoing Monitoring Support the preliminary review of transaction-monitoring alerts under the guidance of the Compliance team. Compare customer activity with the expected business profile and identify potential deviations. Help collect and organise supporting documents such as invoices, contracts, bank statements, or source-of-funds information. Assist with preparing clear case notes and maintaining complete audit trails. Refer potentially unusual or suspicious activity to an authorised Compliance Officer or the MLRO; the trainee will not make final decisions on alert closure or regulatory reporting. Compliance Administration and Reporting Maintain accurate and well-organised compliance records, trackers, and internal databases. Assist with the preparation of management information, statistics, and periodic compliance reports. Support the review and updating of AML/KYC procedures, checklists, templates, and training materials. Help prepare documentation requested for audits, regulatory reviews, or internal control testing. Monitor relevant regulatory developments and prepare short research summaries when requested. Participate in Compliance team meetings, training sessions, and improvement initiatives. Candidate Profile Education Recently completed, a degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Criminology, Political Science, or a related field. A demonstrated interest in AML/CFT, Compliance, financial regulation, payments, banking, or fintech is desirable. Skills and Competencies Eager to learn Strong attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to work. Good analytical and research skills, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and summarise findings clearly. High level of integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and escalate concerns appropriately. Comfortable working independently on assigned tasks while collaborating within a team. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word PowerPoint, and Outlook. Previous exposure to KYC, AML, sanctions, financial crime, or financial services is an advantage but not required. Languages Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese would be an asset. Knowledge of any other languages such as French, German, Luxembourgish, Italian, or another relevant language is an advantage.
