What are we looking for?
The Manager – Distribution Operations (Marketing material) is responsible for ensuring that all fund‑related marketing communications comply with EU CBDF, ESMA Guidelines on Marketing Communications, FCA rules (COBS, FINPROM), and all relevant local regulatory requirements across the EU, UK, and other distribution markets such as APAC and the US.
This role acts as the regulatory gatekeeper for UCITS/AIF or various countries equivalents marketing communications and other fund‑related materials, ensuring accuracy, fairness, balance, and alignment with internal policies and global distribution standards.
The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the international distribution and registration strategy for investment funds across multiple jurisdictions. The role supports the expansion and maintenance of fund distribution networks by ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, coordinating cross-border registrations, managing relationships with regulators and service providers, and providing strategic guidance on market access and distribution opportunities.
What are the minimum requirements you need for the role?
Fund Regulatory Expertise — 4-6 years in fund compliance, marketing review, or regulatory advisory within UCITS/AIF environments.
EU & UK Rule Knowledge — Strong understanding of EU CBDF, ESMA marketing guidelines, FCA COBS/FINPROM, and local NCA expectations.
Investment Product Knowledge — Familiarity with UCITS, AIFs, ETFs, ELTIF. SMAs, and alternative strategies.
Performance & Risk Disclosure — Ability to assess performance presentations, risk warnings, and scenario disclosures.
Editorial Precision — Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify subtle compliance risks in wording or presentation.
Stakeholder Communication — Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for non‑compliance teams.
Workflow Tools — Experience with compliance review systems (e.g., Red Oak, Proofpoint, Seismic, or internal equivalents).
Strong knowledge of cross-border fund distribution frameworks, including UCITS, AIFMD, CBDF, UK OFR, NPPR and other international registration regimes (local Private Placement Regimes).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience interacting with NCAs (e.g., CSSF, CBI, BaFin, AMF).
Prior work in asset management, fund distribution, or global marketing compliance.
Knowledge of PRIIPs, SFDR, MiFID II marketing rules, and Consumer Duty.
What is your role and responsibilities?
Marketing Communications Review — Review fund factsheets, presentations, web content, videos, social posts, and distributor materials for compliance with ESMA Guidelines. Apply ESMA’s supervisory expectations on marketing communications, including risk prominence, performance presentation, and investor‑type suitability.
FCA Rules Application — Review materials under FCA COBS, FINPROM, and Consumer Duty expectations for UK distribution.
Local Regulatory Interpretation — Monitor and apply jurisdiction‑specific rules (e.g., BaFin, AMF, CONSOB, CNMV) for cross‑border distribution.
Risk & Issue Escalation — Identify regulatory, reputational, or conduct risks and escalate appropriately.
Stakeholder Partnership — Work closely with delegates, client relationship managers, legal, and compliance teams to guide compliant messaging.
Process Governance — Maintain and enhance the marketing review workflow, procedures, and documentation standards.
Training & Guidance — Provide regulatory training to marketing and distribution teams on compliant communication standards.
Audit & Recordkeeping — Maintain audit‑ready records of approvals, rationales, and regulatory interpretations.
Global Fund Registration
- Manage the registration, passporting and ongoing maintenance of investment funds and share classes in global distribution jurisdictions, including EU/EEA, UK and other international markets.
