Deadline for application: 26 October. The ESM is looking for a Loan Officer for a 1-year interim contract to contribute to the operations of the ESM Lending team including the structuring, implementation and monitoring of financial assistance instruments provided to Beneficiary Member States.
The role involves supporting the management of lending operations throughout their lifecycle, including the processing of loan transactions, the management of loan events, the maintenance of lending processes and controls, and the preparation of internal and external reporting.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Help manage the loan portfolio and transactions: perform loan bookings, process interest and fee invoicing, maintain internal databases
• Carry out reporting tasks (internal and external), help maintain and optimize lending processes and controls
• Support the life of the loans, including managing loan events such as waivers or amendments, and monitoring EFSF/ESM contractual rights vis-a-vis loan beneficiaries.
• Depending on the profile of the selected candidate, possibility to contribute to the division’s work on crisis preparedness and to participate in ESM country teams that monitor risks in member states. KEY BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
• Master’s degree in finance, economics, law, business administration or a related discipline.
• At least three years of professional experience in lending transactions, lending operations, loan administration or at least five years of professional experience in a banking or financial middle office function.
• Good understanding of loan documentation and lending products including operational and transactional loan terms.
• Good knowledge of Excel, data analysis and data management; experience with Python and DAX (Power BI) would be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of processes and procedures related to the administration, control, and monitoring of lending operations would be an asset.
• Understanding of financial modelling and credit risk monitoring would be an asset.
• Knowledge of the European Union institutional framework and or experience in lending operations in an International Financial Institution would be an asset.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Any additional language are an asset. KEY COMPETENCIES
