Luxembourg Employment: Full-time Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Tax Manager to join a reputable international group operating in a listed-company environment. This is a senior-level opportunity for a tax professional with a strong technical background and experience managing complex tax matters across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. The role combines responsibility for ongoing tax compliance and risk management with involvement in tax planning, transaction-related matters, tax advisory projects, and the assessment of tax implications arising from business activities and changes in the regulatory environment. The successful candidate will play an important role in coordinating tax matters across the group, working closely with local finance teams, external tax advisors, auditors, and other relevant stakeholders. The position requires the ability to navigate different tax regimes, assess cross-border tax implications, identify tax risks and optimisation opportunities, and provide practical recommendations that support the group's business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and coordinate corporate tax matters across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with applicable local tax legislation and international tax requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation, review, and filing of corporate income tax returns and other relevant tax declarations, working with local finance teams and external tax advisors where appropriate.
• Review the tax treatment of complex transactions and accounting positions, ensuring consistency between tax filings, accounting records, and financial reporting.
• Identify potential tax exposures, compliance gaps, and areas requiring further analysis or remediation.
• Prepare internal assessments and recommendations on complex tax matters, translating technical tax analysis into practical implications for the business.
• Assess the tax implications of cross-border transactions, intercompany arrangements, financing structures, and other activities involving multiple entities or tax regimes.
• Coordinate or participate in tax due diligence processes, identifying material tax risks, contingent liabilities, and potential exposures associated with target entities or existing structures.
• Monitor changes in domestic tax legislation, EU tax directives, OECD guidance, and other international tax developments relevant to the group.
• Assess the impact of regulatory changes on existing structures, transactions, and tax positions, coordinating the implementation of necessary changes.
• Identify and assess tax planning opportunities across the group, taking into consideration commercial objectives, applicable legislation, and the group's risk appetite.
• Develop recommendations aimed at improving tax efficiency while ensuring compliance with applicable anti-avoidance provisions, substance requirements, and transfer pricing rules.
• Analyse the tax implications of financing arrangements, interest deductibility, withholding taxes, dividend distributions, and cross-border payments.
• Coordinate the assessment and implementation of OECD Pillar Two global minimum tax requirements, including the relevant EU and domestic legislative provisions applicable to the group.
• Coordinate transfer pricing matters across relevant entities and jurisdictions, including the review of intercompany arrangements and related documentation.
• Support the development and implementation of group tax policies, procedures, and governance standards.
• Provide management with clear, commercially relevant assessments of tax exposures, planning opportunities, and potential implications of proposed business decisions. Candidate Profile
• University degree in Taxation, Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Significant professional experience in corporate taxation, ideally gained within a Big Four tax practice, a multinational group, or a comparable international tax advisory environment.
• Proven ability to analyse complex tax issues, identify risks and planning opportunities, and develop practical, commercially sound recommendations.
• Experience working with external tax advisors, auditors, legal counsel, and finance teams across different jurisdictions.
• Ability to manage several projects and competing deadlines while maintaining a high standard of technical accuracy.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, combined with sound professional judgement.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are an advantage.
• Experience in Big Four, a listed company or an international group operating under demanding governance, reporting, and compliance requirements would also be an advantage.
What We Offer
• The opportunity to join a reputable international group operating in a listed environment
• A senior role with broad exposure to international taxation, complex corporate structures, and multi-jurisdictional operations
• The opportunity to work on a diverse range of tax matters rather than focusing exclusively on routine compliance
• A challenging professional environment in which technical expertise, independent judgement, and commercial awareness are valued
