IT Team Lead

adwäisEO is a fast-growing company, leader in the sector of it services related to the Space Ground Segment. Its clients are Space Agencies (i.e. ESA and Luxembourg Space Agency), public space organization (i.e. Mercator, Copernicus) and private companies. Among our projects: the biggest collaborative ground segment of Europe ( collgs.lu) and the Data Archival, Management and Processing Services (DAMPS) for ESA ( damps.info) that covers together the 80 % of ESA EO data, the systematic production of Sentinel-3A data and the reprocessing of Sentinel 2, so far the biggest reprocessing of the history. The company owns a relevant infrastructure with reference disk storage capacity of 70PB and a computing cluster with almost 1 Petaflops capacity. In order to meet the needs of its clients the infrastructure hosts multiple kinds of environment ranging from dedicated HPC solution to multi-hybrid cloud solutions. The position To strengthen its “IT Infrastructure” department , adwäisEO SA is looking for a talented IT Team Lead for the activities related to production, archiving and dissemination of managed data. She/he will work closely with the IT Manager and the CTO and contribute to the maintenance and development of the IT infrastructures of the company and its projects. She/he will be responsible for coordinating the team in charge of the company's IT infrastructure, overseeing technical operations, ensuring systems are running smoothly, and guaranteeing the security, and evolution of the infrastructure in line with the company’s needs, in line with adwäisEO’s information security management system. She/he will also play a role in developing the skills of her/his team. Must Have Requirement Profile �

Education:
Degree in Computer Science or similar; �
�

Experience:
5+ years demonstrated experience is required : o in a similar position and complex infrastructures; o in network and security equipment configuration and maintenance; storage maintenance and management. �
� Personal qualities: attention to detail, autonomy, strong team spirit, analytical mindset, and ability to manage stress and high workload; �
� Fluent in English; �
� Valid work permit for EU. Management Skills �
� Strong experience in IT team management. �
� Strong organizational and prioritizing skills and ability to lead effective meetings. �
� Excellent communication and problem-solving skills and proactivity Technical Skills �
� Advanced, hands-on expertise in network equipment configuration and maintenance (firewalls, switches, routers, etc.); �
� Advanced, hands-on expertise in different storage technologies and solutions; �
� Advanced, hands-on expertise in Linux environment; �
� Hands-on expertise in infrastructure and networking virtualization; �
� Good command of Active Directory; �
� Good command of infrastructure backup tools; �
� Good command of monitoring tools; �
� Command of principles of security; �
� Experience of administration of Kubernetes cluster. Main Responsibilities �
� Team Coordination: − Coordinate and motivate the team of IT engineers and technicians, planning tasks, managing priorities and distributing responsibilities within the team. − Conduct regular performance reviews and encourage skill development. − Foster communication and collaboration within the team and across departments. �
� IT Infrastructure Management: − Configure and maintain network equipment (firewalls, switches, routers), while overseeing the broader administration and maintenance of servers, storage systems, and databases. − Ensure the security data protection compliance of the IT infrastructure (firewalls, VPN, etc). − Guarantee the availability and reliability of systems and networks (incident management, updates). − Propose and implement improvements and optimizations to the infrastructure according to the company’s strategic needs. �
� Technical Operations: − Coordinate and participate in deployment, migration, and system upgrade projects. − Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide level 3 support when necessary. − Document processes, configurations, and technical interventions. �
� Project Planning and Management: − Coordinate projects related to infrastructure development (virtualization, cloud, system modernization). − Contribute to defining the strategic direction of the IT department. − Enforce compliance with adwäisEO’s information security management system and pro-actively contribute to its constant improvement. � French knowledge; �
� Experience on cloud infrastructures on premises (e.g. OpenShift, Kubevirt, etc.). �
� Red Hat certification (RHCE – Red Hat Certified Engineer).
