Head of Security (F, M, X) The Head of Security will join the expert teams managing flagship platforms at the heart of Luxembourg’s and Europe’s supercomputing, AI and quantum strategies – MeluXina, MeluXina-AI and MeluXina-Q. This is a unique opportunity to shape the security posture of one of Europe’s most advanced supercomputing and quantum computing environments. As Head of Security, you will act as the organization’s functional Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), responsible for defining and executing our cybersecurity strategy while leading a team of security professionals. You will ensure the security, resilience and compliance of our advanced technology environments, including cloud, data, supercomputing and emerging technology platforms. You report to the CTO (line management) and functionally to the Security Committee, composed of Senior Leadership team and chaired by CEO. The role combines security leadership with hands-on operational involvement. You will oversee cybersecurity governance, risk management, incident response, cyber resilience, security architecture, certification programs and regulatory compliance. You will also serve as the primary cybersecurity representative for customers, auditors and partners, supporting pre
- sales activities, customer security assessments and external audits. Your Role Consists In Define and execute the organization’s cybersecurity strategy, roadmap and governance framework. Manage cybersecurity risk, compliance and certification programs, including ISO 27001 and related requirements. Lead the operational cybersecurity function, including security monitoring, threat management, vulnerability management and incident response. Ensure the security and resilience of cloud, infrastructure, data, supercomputing, quantum and emerging technology platforms. Drive cyber resilience, business continuity and crisis management preparedness. Oversee third-party and supply chain cybersecurity risk management. Act as the primary security contact for customers, auditors, regulators and external partners. Support business development and pre-sales activities by providing cybersecurity expertise and leading customer security assessments. Lead, develop and mentor the Security Services team while fostering a strong security culture across the organization. Promote secure-by-design principles and the adoption of security best practices throughout the organization. Profile: Qualifications & Experience University degree (Master preferred) in Information Security, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Minimum 10 years of experience in information security, including leadership responsibilities within complex and international environments. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCISO, CISA, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor are a plus. Professional Expertise Proven experience defining and executing enterprise cybersecurity strategies aligned with business objectives. Demonstrated ownership of security governance programs, including policies, standards, risk management, measurement, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong, hands-on experience implementing and maintaining ISO 27001 and other recognized security frameworks (NIST CSF, CIS Controls). Proven ability to establish and operate cyber risk management programs, including reporting to executive leadership and governance bodies. Experience managing regulatory and compliance requirements, including GDPR, NIS2, AI Act, customer audits, and external assessments. Experience overseeing third-party and supply chain cybersecurity risk management. Strong understanding of security architecture and enterprise technology environments, including cloud, hybrid, infrastructure, identity, application, and data security. Experience leading cybersecurity incident response, cyber resilience, business continuity, and recovery activities. Experience managing security budgets, investment planning, vendor relationships, and sourcing decisions. Experience supporting customer security assessments, responding to security questionnaires and leading external security audits. Leadership & Stakeholder Management Proven ability to communicate cybersecurity risks and priorities in business terms to executive leadership, governance bodies and non-technical stakeholders. Strong leadership experience in building, developing, and mentoring high-performing operational security teams. Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional teams and establishing cybersecurity as a business enabler, balancing security, operational effectiveness, innovation and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and relationship
