The ShipTech Analytics organization builds the analytics and business review
platform that worldwide Operations team rely on worldwide to plan, track, and
improve performance. We are seeking a System Development Engineer with
experience in software engineering support or an equivalent role, and a track
record of driving projects that improve software development, operational, and
customer-facing processes. A successful candidate is an experienced technical
team member who takes on challenging responsibilities, brings a metrics-focused
approach, demonstrates strong customer focus, and can lead in multi-functional,
fast-paced environments. We especially value engineers who bring a product
mindset — thinking beyond the immediate fix to how tools and services create

Key job responsibilities
You will partner with Software Engineers to develop scalable and highly
resilient systems therefore system design together with coding are key
Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across a large-scale analytics
platform, performing thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Develop new features spanning services across multiple stacks, using Java,
Python and TypeScript on AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, OpenSearch)
Design and implement monitoring and alarming to ensure platform reliability,
data freshness, and performance
Manage software deployments and supporting infrastructure in AWS and web
technology environments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to a shared knowledge
base to improve operational excellence Basic
Qualifications:
- Experience in professional software and systems development
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS or cloud technologies
