About the Role
We are seeking a practical Process Engineer to convert laboratory dope preparation and spinning procedures into scalable, robust, and repeatable processes. The role focuses on preparing and spinning aramids on a lab-scale dry-jet wet-spinning line, with a clear path to future scale-up. The successful candidate will bridge R&D and industrial deployment by developing process designs, equipment specifications, controls, commissioning plans, and scale-up routes for safe and reliable manufacturing transfer. We secure and produce critical advanced materials, including carbon fibre and aramids, by sourcing, recovering and regenerating high-value materials into secure industrial supply chains. As a Process Engineer, your key accountabilities will include: Develop process designs, operating parameters, controls, and scale-up plans for lab-scale dry-jet wet spinning. Convert laboratoryaramid dope preparation and spinning procedures into scalable, repeatable processes. Specify, integrate, and commission equipment for dope preparation, spinning trials, and pilot-scale development. Support lab-scale spinning trials, future scale-up, manufacturing readiness, and process transfer activities. Troubleshoot process, equipment, and quality issues using structured problem solving. Prepare process flows, SOPs, risk assessments, commissioning plans, and technical reports. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities: Strong understanding of process engineering, scale-up, equipment integration, and manufacturing readiness. Experience with dope preparation, aramid processing, dry-jet wet spinning, high-viscosityfluids and polymer solutions. Hands-on experience translating laboratory methods into robust pilot or manufacturing processes. Practical knowledge of process control, commissioning, troubleshooting, and safe operation of equipment. Strong documentation, problem-solving, communication, and technical reporting skills. Ability to work with R&D, analytical, engineering, and manufacturing teams to deliver processobjectives. Desirable Qualifications and Experience Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years’ experience in industrial process development, scale-up, equipment integration, and manufacturing readiness. Experience specifying, commissioning, or improving process equipment in pilot or manufacturing environments. Experience withpolymerspinning advanced materials, aramids, polymer processing and solvent-based systems. Why Join Uplift360?
