Key responsibilities
Are you seeking to develop your career in the Fund industry? Do you possess extensive knowledge of AIFMD & UCITS regulations and demonstrate problem-solving skills to enhance efficiencies? As Head of Supervision Alternative Funds, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of depositary supervision professionals overseeing a diverse portfolio of alternative investment funds. You will ensure the effective execution of depositary supervision duties, maintain a robust control environment, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and internal requirements. In addition, you will play a key role in driving the adoption of innovative technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics, to enhance supervisory processes, improve operational efficiency, strengthen risk identification capabilities, and support data-driven decision-making across the function.
Key responsibilities
include:
• Providing leadership, guidance and development to Alternative supervision managers and their respective teams.
• Ensuring the timely and accurate execution of depositary supervision activities, including cash flow monitoring, asset verification, record-keeping and ownership verification.
• Acting as an escalation point for complex issues, breaches, exceptions and regulatory matters.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the enhancement of supervision methodologies, controls and operating procedures.
• Leveraging AI, automation and data analytics solutions to optimise supervisory controls, improve process efficiency and enhance reporting capabilities.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, AIFMs, auditors and other service providers.
• Supporting strategic projects, regulatory change initiatives and business transformation programmes.
• Ensuring the team delivers high-quality client service while meeting regulatory obligations and internal governance standards.

The team You will be part of the Depositary Supervision Team of UBS Europe SE, Luxembourg Branch. The team is responsible for performing all regulatory controls under UCITS V and AIFMD related to safekeeping, cash flow monitoring, and custody oversight. We are a diverse and dynamic team, fostering a strong spirit of collaboration in our day-to-day work. Your skills and experience We are looking for an experienced professional with:
• Extensive experience in Depositary, Fund Administration, Audit or Alternative Investment Fund Management.
• Strong knowledge of the Luxembourg alternative investment funds industry and regulatory framework. Experience with UCITS would be considered an asset.
• Proven experience managing and developing teams in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
• Sound understanding of alternative asset classes, including Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate, Infrastructure and other alternative investment strategies.
• Strong risk management and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels.
• A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic and evolving environment.
