About the Role
Your core responsibility will revolve around the execution of lab experimentation on dissolution method development for producing aramid solutions suitable for fibre spinning. The dissolution will utilise Uplift360’s proprietary solvent system. This is a key requirement needed for the EU funded project. In addition to this, responsibilities may also include the daily maintenance and smooth operation of the lab, adhering strictly to SOPs and health and safety requirements. You will also work closely with the R&D team and management, conducting tests on the materials produced by Uplift360. We secure and produce critical advanced materials, including carbon fibre and aramids, for European defence and industry by sourcing, recovering and regenerating high-value materials into secure industrial supply chains. As geopolitical instability, supply chain fragility and industrial competition intensify, access to advanced materials is becoming a defining strategic advantage.
Uplift360 is building the infrastructure and technology required to secure it. As a Laboratory Technician, your key accountabilities will include: Chemical experimentation: Plan and execute analytical measurements and experiments under the supervision of Uplift360 scientists and management. Key task: carrying out lab experimentation on dissolution method development for producing aramid solutions suitable for fibre spinning. Inventory Management and Ordering: Execute laboratory orders of new equipment, chemicals, and/or materials. Ensure the laboratory inventory is up-to-date and fully stocked at all times. Chemical and waste management: Ensure proper chemical storage in compliance with LU/EU regulations; oversee waste storage and management according to regulatory requirements; establish waste disposal protocols and order appropriate waste containers. Operational Safety & Documentation: Write and maintain comprehensive health & safety documentation; ensure correct labelling of chemicals and waste containers; establish storage protocols for gases ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Lab Operations: Ensuring smooth and efficient running of an industrial research lab, including maintenance and calibration of lab equipment. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Personal Qualities Degree in a science with lab-based experience. Polymer dissolution experience for the purpose of producing spinning dopes. Experience handling aramid materials. Industrial experience in a laboratory environment. Procurement experience in the context of a laboratory environment. Flexibility and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and people skills with strong understanding of English. Proficient in computer applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Why Join Uplift360? Working hours
must adhere to the open hours of the facility. This role will be based at our Luxembourg lab and office. You’ll be required on site 4+ days/week. We’re happy to discuss flexible working options to support work-life balance at interview stage.
