JOB MISSION

Department description

The National Funding department supports Luxembourg-based companies in identifying, accessing and securing national state aids and public funding instruments. The team advises businesses throughout the application process, from eligibility assessment to submission, while monitoring the evolving regulatory landscape at national and European level.

Job description

As an AI & State Aids Innovation Intern, you will support the National Funding team in both operational and strategic activities. You will contribute to the development and training of internal AI agents, monitor state aids programmes and EU-level regulatory developments, produce promotional content based on anonymised client use cases and help enhance the team's client-facing materials.

You will assist the team in the internal analysis processes for client applications and, in return, gain first-hand exposure to AI-driven innovation projects led by Luxinnovation's clients.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to the development, training and continuous improvement of AI agents used by the National Funding team to streamline internal processes

• Monitor state aids programmes and regulatory developments at EU level, producing structured benchmarks and summaries for the team

• Draft anonymised use cases and client testimonials for promotional and communication materials

• Update and maintain the environmental aids applicant guides, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current regulations

• Enhance the design and visual quality of client presentations used by the team during advisory meetings

• Support the team in the internal analysis of client funding applications, including eligibility checks, documentation review and file preparation

• Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing by documenting lessons learned and best practices from AI innovation projects

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Education level and professional experience required

• Master's degree in progress or recently completed in innovation management, public policy, data science, economics, business administration or a related field

• A first experience (academic project, previous internship or personal project) in AI tools, public funding or innovation ecosystems is an asset

Specific competencies

• Genuine interest in artificial intelligence, AI agent development and prompt engineering

• Understanding of or strong curiosity for state aids mechanisms and regulatory frameworks

• Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesise complex regulatory information

• Excellent written communication skills, particularly for producing use cases, guides and promotional content

• Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential client information with discretion

• Proactive, autonomous and eager to learn in a fast-paced, multi-project environment

Languages

• Fluent English and French are mandatory

• German or Luxembourgish is an asset

IT skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Familiarity with AI platforms and tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot, LangChain or similar)

• Knowledge of presentation design tools (Canva, PowerPoint advanced features) is an asset

• Interest in data analysis or automation tools is a plus
