Capital Planning Manager, Planning and Analytics

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or related field
- Experience in complex project management roles, with proven ability to deliver workable solutions and on-time projects
- Experience in leading large-scale projects and programs utilizing data to drive decision-making and process improvement.
- Experience managing, influencing, and negotiating project requirements with business partners and cross functional teams.
- Advanced Proficiency in Excel and Tableau
- Proficiency using SQL or other data analysis tools/languages.

Key job responsibilities

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
Work with internal Amazon teams to deliver network capacity on time through capital planning effectiveness:

- Help create, submit and track the relevant Capex documentation to enable all projects to be delivered on time, within budget and at best overall value.
- Track the status of all critical inputs for active funding requests.
- Develop, maintain and audit standard item lists containing unit price, vendor, part # etc. for standard process equipment.
- General data entry and data auditing tasks.
- Schedule and moderate multiple weekly standing meetings with internal teams to obtain or share information and track deliverables.
- Evaluate and simplify current working procedures and improve organizational team structure.
- Deep dive on technical details and lead problem resolution on an as needs basis.
- Provide equipment projections to procurement and partner for best value and competitiveness.
- Coordinate information between various teams in the organization.
- Understand operational processes.

A day in the life
60% of the time will be managing capital funding requests, liaising between key stakeholders (Project Managers and Directors).
The remaining 40% of the time will be spent on process improvements, driving key value from the EMEA Capital planning team: data, dashboards, metrics and KPIs.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to peers and senior leadership teams.
- Comfortable with ambiguities, conflicting priorities and multi-cultural and matrix environment. Work under pressure and aggressive timelines.
- Master’s degree/MBA or other advanced degree in Engineering, Finance, or related field
- Finance acumen - analysis, capital portfolio management, etc.
- Amazon Operations Engineering, Startup, and/or Launch experience
- PMP Certification
- Knowledge of another European language, or Arabic is preferred.
