Principal Credit

**Your role in helping us shape the future**:
The Principal Credit & Collections Analyst provides critical expertise assessing the risk associated with extending credit to potential and existing international customers. This role leads the internal and external safeguarding of Intelsat assets by minimizing bad-debt risks and maximizing cash inflows through the timely collection of delinquent accounts receivables.

**Are you up to the challenge?**
- Leveraging your relationship expertise with customers, achieve timely payment and debt financing plans and repayment arrangements for all Intelsat credit extensions. Lead the coordination of account terminations when such actions are necessary.
- Lead the Credit Approval process by reviewing financial and contract information to determine risk levels, recommend appropriate collateral requirements and risk mitigation terms
- Maintain and update collection activities reporting on the financial exposure and collection effectiveness
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of corporate-wide credit and collection policies and procedures and ensure ongoing operational adherence
- Foster a cohesive, positive, results driven team
- Educate internal and external customers about Intelsat's billing terms and credit and collection policies.
- Develop continuous improvement techniques to reengineer existing policies and procedures. Propose process refinements to enhance internal/external customer support and service
- Monitor industry practices and global and regional events that could enhance or adversely affect receivables with each country in region
- Provide monthly KPI’s for the region (DSO, Overdues, Top 10 overdue accounts by Business Units)
- Develop and maintain a communication schedule to work closely with sales and billing teams to ensure all credit and collection policies are understood and enforced and that information is shared between the business units to support decisions made and resolve issues

**You should definitely have**:

- Degree from an accredited university required, preferably with a focus in financial management, accounting or a similar specialty
- Must have at least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a basic understanding of accounts receivables and cash collection processes
- Must be fully bi-lingual in English and Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills in the languages common to regional customers
- Demonstrated excellence and finesse with interpersonal and negotiating skills, with the ability to adapt to various work styles, time zones and cultural behaviors
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Oracle, SalesForce
