**Role Overview**

As an **Associate Legal Counsel**, you’ll be a core member of our Legal team, driving strategic initiatives across product development, regulatory compliance, and business operations. You’ll serve as the primary legal point of contact for payment-related matters and will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Tech, Strategy, Marketing, Compliance, and other business stakeholders. Your role will involve providing strategic legal advice, fostering innovation, and ensuring regulatory compliance across Satispay’s diverse offerings.

**Your mission**:

- ** Strategic advisory**.**Play the role of strategic product counsel throughout the lifecycle of new product and feature development, from ideation to market launch, ensuring alignment with Satispay’s goals and regulatory compliance.
- ** Cross-team collaboration**. Partner with business teams to create groundbreaking services by developing innovative legal solutions that balance business needs with risk management.
- ** Legal drafting and negotiation**. Draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including partnerships, vendor contracts, terms of service and other customer-facing documentation.
- ** Regulatory compliance support.** Work closely with the Compliance department to ensure products and services align with applicable financial regulations, including those related to e-money, MiFID services, or similar frameworks. Assist in managing relationships with regulatory authorities.
- ** Horizon scanning**. Proactively monitor regulatory developments and emerging trends, assessing their implications for the business and ensuring timely adaptation to maintain compliance and support strategic objectives.

**Your ideal profile**:

- ** Background**. You are a qualified lawyer with a strong background in reputable law firms and at least 5 years of experience in advising fintechs on financial regulations and payment products. You are used to working in tech innovation applied to e-money, MiFID services or similar regulatory frameworks.
- ** Strategic and risk-based approach**. You are able to take smart risks and provide strategic advice as well as align regulatory requirements with business objectives.
- ** Product counseling**. You are able to immerse into the tech/product aspects with a high level of curiosity and are willing to find out-of-the-box customer-facing features as well as balance legal risks.
- ** Contract negotiation**. You are skilled in drafting and negotiating complex agreements with regulatory considerations.
- ** Sound judgment**. You are confident in making sound decisions even in situations of ambiguity or with incomplete information.
- ** Communication skills**. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively advise and influence senior management and engage a variety of stakeholders.
- ** Adaptability**. You excel in dynamic, fast-paced environments, demonstrating the ability to quickly adjust to shifting challenges and priorities.
- ** Language proficiency**. You are fluent in English; knowledge of Italian is a plus.
