Server Support Agent

**General Purpose**:
Halian is seeking a highly motivated Server Support Agent to join our client. You will play a pivotal role in managing the IT infrastructure, the server environment and storage systems. This position requires a strong understanding of Windows & Linux environments, virtualization, storage management (provisioning), IT security rules & tools. You have a deep know how in data-center management, including servers, storage and switches.
***Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities**:
- Provision virtual machines with Linux (Debian) and Windows Server OS, including the storage provisioning
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues in the IT infrastructure and recommend/implement appropriate solutions
- Analyze business processes and offer IT solutions that are matching into the infrastructure
- Manage SQL servers and databases (MS-SQL, Postgres, MySQL)
- Assist the desktop support as 3rd level engineer for all hardware and software issues
- Collaborate with the Service Desk to resolve user inquiries
- Support the network team with basic network and firewall management tasks
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges
***Education and Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT) or a minimum of 5 years of demonstrably relevant experience
- Proven experience in supporting server, storage system environments and Hypervisors
- Experience with Bash Scripting, Active Directory, Patch Management (Windows & Linux) and IT Security Tools is highly desirable
- Understanding of network and firewall concepts is mandatory
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English being mandatory. Fluency in German, French or Italian is a strong asset
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and seek solutions through teamwork
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a meticulous approach to detail while maintaining efficient execution
- A continuous learner with a proactive attitude towards staying updated with evolving technologies
