Legal Entity Risk Director

Risk Management helps the firm understand, manage and anticipate risks in a constantly changing environment. The work covers areas such as reviewing portfolios for investment risks, liquidity risks, and counterparty risks, measured by risk sensitivities (e.g., Duration, Spread Widening, Equity Factors, etc.), Value at Risk, Stress Tests and other position and portfolio metrics. Risk Management provides independent oversight and maintains an effective control environment.

**Key responsibilities include**:
**Investment Risk Oversight**:

- Monitor and report investment risk on an independent basis. Oversight conducted at the level of strategy, fund/account and product level, including:

- Stress and scenario analysis with threshold management
- Global exposure for funds via VaR and the commitment approach
- Fund liquidity risk
- Leverage and Total Exposure analysis
- Carry out relevant investigation and escalation of limit/threshold excesses
- Pre-investment/disinvestment of Alternative funds
- Money Market funds specific oversight
- Drive various AM Risk Management initiatives impacting JPMAME funds
- Ensure that procedures and Risk Management Process (RMP) for risk monitoring are followed
- Drive, lead and innovate the portfolio Risk oversight procedures and processes
- Effectively manage headcount and budget
- Partner with the AM Risk Innovation Lead to challenge status quo and promote change
- Promote a strong control environment by adhering to risk and control expectations
- Support regulatory exam management, including serving as lead (when applicable) for remediation of regulatory findings
- Represent Risk in various fund launches which may require agreeing risk limits, benchmark reviews, providing leverage estimate, product spec reviews etc. Ensure risk requirements for new funds are met
- Regular presentation of the risk exposure and the appropriate risk management to funds and legal entity boards and regulators
- Manage a high performing team by setting clear direction, driving performance, empowering the team, coaching for impact, fostering feedback and guiding careers
- Promote the talent agenda by hiring a diverse team

**Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or related degree preferred and a preparedness to undertake CFA or CAIA exams
- 7+ years of professional experience related to Asset Management Risk Management
- Strong working knowledge of the industry
- Ability to work with individuals at all levels in the organization and contribute to the strategic direction of the firm and the team
- Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication with ability to edit and prepare executive level communications.
- Ability to build and manage a diverse, high performing team
- Ability to collaborate with partners and stakeholders across the organization to forward business priorities
- High degree of initiative, self-direction, and ability to work well under pressure
- Tenacity - takes personal responsibility for pursuing a line of action and does not take the easy option
