**EIF Posting**:
The **European Investment Fund (EIF)** is seeking to recruit for its **Market Assessment and Research Division - Data Intelligence Unit **at its headquarters in **Luxembourg, **a **Trainee - Data Intelligence.**

Duration: five (5) months & Starting date: October 2024

**_ Specific Post Environment:_**

The Trainee will be part of the Data Intelligence Unit within the newly created Strategy department, in order to contribute to the development of the Data intelligence services for the EIF Strategy function.

**_ Overall objective:_**

You will be primarily involved in supporting the Data Intelligence Unit in the context of its ongoing projects, notably:

- The automatization of the processing of the EIF Survey data;
- The automatization of the EIF country spotlight report.

**_ Responsibilities_**:
Under the guidance of a Team member, you shall contribute to:

- For the EIF Survey data project:

- Coordinate the addition of the EIF Survey data in EIF database;
- Ensure proper handling of errors and exceptions;
- Develop analytics (tools and visuals) based on such EIF survey data by liaising with other colleagues from the Division;
- Provide any other project related support.
- For the EIF country spotlight report:

- Coordinate the retrieval of needed data either through leveraging existing datasets or through adding data to EIF database;
- Ensure proper handling of errors and exceptions;
- Develop analytics (tools and visuals) based on such data by liaising with other colleagues from the Directorate;
- Provide any other project related support.

**_ Expected outcome:_**
- For the EIF Survey data project: improve and complement the current process to limit manual errors and ensure availability of relevant data and analysis throughout the EIF,
- For the EIF country spotlight report: improve and complement the current process to automatize the retrieval of data and ensure availability of relevant data and analysis throughout the EIF.

**_ Qualifications:_**
- Degree in IT, Engineering, Economics, Business, Science or in a similar field,
- Strong Microsoft excel skills,
- Knowledge of IT visualisation techniques (experience with Tableau would be considered as an advantage),
- Previous experience with any of the new technologies introduced into unit's processes (e.g. analytics, machine learning, AI, etc.) would be considered an advantage,
- Previous experience with data cleaning, ETL tools or SQL databases would be considered an advantage,
- Good knowledge of project management principles, methods and practices,
- Fluency in English.

- Creativity and ability to analyse problems from new angles, and to identify and develop solutions depending on the issues to be addressed,
- Capacity to work and prioritize efficiently under strict deadlines and time pressure,
- Proactivity, capability to work autonomously under given objectives and ability to organise own work effectively even under time pressure,
- Good interpersonal skills, open-minded and resilient,
- Attention to detail.
