The **European Investment Fund** (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its** Corporate Planning Management Information Division - Financial & Business Planning Unit**,** **at its headquarters in **Luxembourg, **a **Trainee - Financial & Business Planning.**

Specific Post Environment:_**

The deal allocation process is a key part of the EIF’s business, and it is crucial control to ensure a fair and transparent, controlled, and auditable allocation of mandate resources to equity transactions.

One of the key activities of the Financials & Business Planning Unit is to monitor and control the deal allocation process, which also includes the maintenance and evolution of the deal allocation analytical model and supporting monitoring and control tools.

You will operate within the Financial & Business Planning unit, and mainly be involved in the establishment of the of the EIF deal allocation monitoring tool and supporting framework.

Overall objective:_**

Your overall objective will be to:

- Develop and implement controls to monitor overall pipeline allocations, transactions, and mandate parameters.
- Identify risks and gaps in the pipeline.
- Maintain and run the deal allocation model.
- Prepare and maintain dashboards to support process monitoring and controls.

Responsibilities_**:
Under the guidance of the senior officer in the team, you shall:

- Assist in the development of a deal allocation monitoring tool (developed in Alteryx and Tableau).
- Assist in the further development & improvement of the deal allocation model (developed in Alteryx and Tableau).
- Participate in the development of a deal allocation monitoring framework.
- Assist in the drafting or update of the deal allocation monitoring process documentation.
- Assist the unit in its deal allocation monitoring tasks (check completeness and quality of relevant data points; check relevant documents, necessary rationale, and existence of required evidence).

- Development of the deal allocation monitoring tool.
- Improvements in the deal allocation model.
- DAC monitoring process documentation (at least at advanced draft stage).
- Record of checks done in the context of the deal allocation monitoring framework.

Qualifications:_**
- University degree (or on-going studies at advanced stage) in engineering, applied mathematics, physics, business administration, finance, data analytics, data science, or similar.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of EIF mission, activities, and market (mainly the equity part).
- Good understanding of EIF products (mainly equity).
- Basic knowledge of EIF and EU-related policies and priorities.
- Excellent knowledge of English (oral and written), knowledge of other EU languages considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in common IT tools (MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint).
- Data analysis skills (using Excel).
- Any familiarity with data analysis tools will be considered an asset (notably SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, or similar).
- Prior experience in data analysis, banking/finance, consulting or in institutions similar to EIF (e.g., development bank or National Promotional Institution) would be an advantage.
