The **Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB)** is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg. We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and _in silico_. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and their contributing factors.
The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. The University of Luxembourg has the following vacancy at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) - Molecular & Functional Neurobiology group**: Research & Development Specialist.**
The R&D specialist will support the implementation of various multiomics projects by further developing, implementing, and validating experimental multiomics protocols for patient-derived iPSC differentiation experiments, which will investigate underlying mechanisms of neurodegeneration.
**Your Role...**:
- General support of lab activities
- Generation of multiomics data sets
- Developing integrative multiomics approaches
- Assessment of impaired cellular functions in neurodegeneration (including RNA-seq, proteomics and metabolomics)
- Data analysis, data interpretation and reporting of results
- Participate in knowledge dissemination activities through the preparation of scientific publications or presentations in scientific venues
- Participate in teaching activities (seminars and practicals)
- Support and tutoring of activity of students
**What we expect from you**:
- MSc in Life Sciences, Neurosciences, Molecular Biology or related field with solid lab experience (+5 years)
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary research and omics technologies
- Proven experience (+5 years) in cell culture and in at least one omics approach
- Good command of molecular biology methods
- Experience in omics analyses is considered an advantage
- Knowledge in transcriptomics and proteomics
- Skills to autonomously conduct data analysis with solid understanding of statistics
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English with proven experience in the writing of scientific publications
- Excellent team-working, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with local and international partners
- Enthusiasm and commitment to research
- Ability to think ahead as well as to troubleshoot
