Investment Accounting Oversight Specialist

**The Role**:
The Investment Accounting Oversight Specialist will play a key role in a centralised function for Investment Accounting Services(IAS). IAS provides technical accounting oversight on the majority of M&G funds including collective vehicles, private fund vehicles, unit linked funds and PAC life funds. This role will be based in the IAS team in Luxembourg and will focus on the funds within the Lux ManCo.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ownership and coordination of the end-to-end process for the Financial report and accounts for in scope funds.
- Ensure appropriate NAV oversight checks are performed over the in scope Funds.
- Oversight of Third party administrators and Depositories to ensure that the Fund Accounting Services are appropriately managed in accordance with regulations and legal agreements.
- Liaise with the wider IAS team on allocation of work, consistency of process and reporting of management information.

**Responsibilities will include**:
The oversight activities include
- NAV Oversight checks on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis in accordance with the designated NAV Oversight framework.
- Oversight checks over the integrity and accuracy of ledger data, providing analytical and regulatory reporting,
- Linking with other oversight teams to ensure there is consistent and risk based approach across all funds.
- Oversight of Third party administrators and Depositories to ensure that the Fund Accounting Services are appropriately managed in accordance with regulations and legal agreements.
- Incident management of any incidents, breaches or errors in relation to the Fund Accounting Services.
- Ownership and coordination of the end-to-end process for the Financial report and accounts for in scope funds.
- Management of the External auditor relationship for the in scope funds.
- Actively participate in change activities affecting in scope funds e.g launches, in species, mergers and closures

**You will have**:

- Previous experience within an accounting oversight function within Financial Services.
- Technical experience of the pricing and workings of a range of Investment Funds, with a strong knowledge of Alternative funds.
- Experience of different assets types and valuation methodologies, including debt securities and derivative instruments.
- Strong technical knowledge of Financial Reporting for Investment funds, in particular Alternative Funds, across different accounting regimes eg Luxembourg GAAP, IFRS,UK GAAP, AIC SORP, IA SORP
- Strong analytical skills
- Accountant by qualification or experience
- Confidence to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external parties
