The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg.
We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and in silico. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and their contributing factors. The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. **Your role**:
As an R&D Specialist in our team, you will actively contribute to the scientific development of several projects in the field of chemical and molecular neurobiology. You will also work closely with other team members and contribute to managing day-to-day lab operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated researcher to be part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary team.
- Your key responsibilities will include_
- Designing and performing experiments involving molecular and chemical biology, fluorescence microscopy, and cell culture techniques, including work with cell lines, primary and iPSC-derived cells, and animal models
- Conducting microscopy experiments using conventional and super-resolution imaging techniques
- Conducting experiments using chemical biology-based protein engineering
- Maintaining accurate experimental records; analyzing and interpreting data; contributing to scientific discussions, preparation of research reports, and publications where appropriate
- Collaborating closely with other team members to support effective knowledge transfer and project integration
- Supporting the general organization of the laboratory, including maintenance of inventories, ordering supplies, overseeing stocks, preparing solutions

**Your profile**:

- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as molecular biology, neurobiology, or chemical biology
- Strong practical experience in molecular biology and cell culture, applied in either neurobiology or chemical biology research contexts
- Hands-on experience in either advanced molecular biology techniques (e.g., CRISPR-Cas9, viral vectors, RNAi) or fluorescence microscopy is required; experience in both is a strong advantage
- Hands-on experience with iPSC-derived cells, primary cell cultures, or mouse models is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with proteomics workflows and/or super-resolution imaging methods is a strong advantage
- Strong computational and organizational skills, with attention to detail, particularly in experimental planning, documentation and sample management
- A high level of reliability, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken
