Associate - Tax

Due to growth and client demand, we are recruiting an Associate to join our tax practice in Luxembourg.

Our Luxembourg office has a strong stand-alone tax practice. It works seamlessly with other departments, such as corporate / M&A, banking & finance, Funds or with our colleagues abroad as well as with our various offices across the Globe.

Our Tax Team is particularly recognised for its depth of experience in assisting top tier family offices and privately owned multinational groups. It also assists a selected group of global asset managers (Private Equity, Real estate).

Our team is integral to our corporate and investment management services, providing comprehensive advice on all direct and indirect tax matters. We engage with clients from the inception of their investment projects, advising on optimal corporate structures, regulatory forms, and financing instruments. Our expertise extends to structuring Luxembourg funds and corporate vehicles to optimize tax implications both locally and in investor / investee jurisdictions.

**Role and Responsibilities**

As an Associate, you will play a key role in supporting our tax team in delivering high-quality tax advice to our clients. You will work closely with Senior Associates and Principals, gaining exposure to a wide range of tax issues and contributing to the development of innovative tax solutions.

The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Conducting research and analysis on tax legislation and case law to support the development of tax strategies.
- Working on tax advisory projects for domestic and international clients, providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Identifying tax issues of clients and offering strategic advice to address these challenges effectively.
- Supporting the structuring and implementation of Luxembourg fund and corporate vehicles, ensuring tax efficiency in both Luxembourg and investee jurisdictions.
- Collaborating closely with other practices within the firm and with our international offices to provide integrated and comprehensive solutions for our clients.
- Assisting in the preparation of tax returns, opinions, reports, and client presentations.
- Monitoring changes in tax regulations and assessing their impact on clients' operations.
- Being in contact with clients and their advisors, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.
- Participating in client meetings and contributing to the development of client relationships.
- Contributing to group knowledge and know-how initiatives.

**Person Specification**
- Have at least a 4-year university degree in law, economics, accounting or finance, ideally with a master’s degree in taxation (e.g. DJCE)
- Have at least 3-4 years’ experience in Luxembourg tax advisory and tax compliance, preferably in a law firm
- Fluent in written and spoken English and French. Other languages are an asset
- Demonstrate good judgement and a good legal and commercial understanding of client’s particular needs
- Take a ‘hands on’ approach to managing own files and a broad case load
- Have a high degree of attention to detail
- Have strong problem-solving skills
- Be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks
- Be a pro-active team player, who is also highly self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative
- Be flexible and willing to go the extra mile
- Have excellent all round IT skills, MS Office including Excel and Word
