Blackstone Europe Fund Management S.à r.l. (BEFM) is a Luxembourg private limited liability company authorized by the
_Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier_ (CSSF) as an alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) in accordance with the Law of 12 July 2013 on alternative investment fund managers, as amended.
BEFM manages alternative investment funds (AIFs) in a variety of asset classes including private equity, real estate, credit and hedge fund solutions. BEFM is also authorized to manage separately managed accounts (SMAs) with a combination of these asset classes.
**Job Description**:
We are currently looking to hire an Assistant Vice-President (AVP) for the BEFM Valuation team (BEFM Valuation), which will primarily be responsible for the valuation of investments and the review of the NAV of the AIFs under BEFM management.
**Responsibilities**:
In this role, the AVP will be an integral member of BEFM Valuation Team in Luxembourg focusing on the review of the valuation material produced by the relevant Blackstone valuation teams and of the NAVs prepared by the Central Administrations. The AVP will have the opportunity to participate in an array of projects and will be expected to assume a key role within the team, with a focus on real estate funds and hedge fund solutions.
Key responsibilities will include, amongst others:
- Valuation: responsible for the review of valuation of investments portfolio before NAV release
- Produce investment valuation analysis at fund level and presentations to BEFM’s management team
- Lead discussions with Blackstone valuation teams
- Actively participate to the valuation analysis of investments’ portfolio before closing
- Execute ad hoc projects and generate monthly and quarterly reporting for management team and Boards
- Net asset value: responsible for the accuracy of the calculation of the NAV of the AIFs managed
- Participate to the new fund onboardings
- Drive improvements of the valuations and NAV processes, enhancement of procedures and processes as well as the use of offshore resources and technology
- Maintain and develop a strong collaboration with other teams
- Manage responsibilities and tasks assigned to the offshore consultants
- BEFM and Global Finance and Asset Management - develop collaboration with the US and EMEA teams to solve problems, achieve results and develop best practices
Qualifications & Skills
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team, are highly motivated, with a sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or similar discipline (CFA and/or CAIA a plus)
- 6+ years of relevant financial services industry experience (Real Estate, Banking, Investment Management, Audit/Advisory)
- Strong technical accounting skills, IFRS knowledge required
- Familiarity with a wide range of valuation approaches (e.g. Income, Market)
- Knowledge of the local requirements in relation to UCI Part II & SICAV funds is a plus
- Analytical and quantitative skills, highly organized
- Team player with resourceful mindset and efficiency-driven
- Ability to produce creative, compelling, detailed reporting materials
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and execute a wide range of assignments, strong time management skills, and attention to detail
