Senior General Ledger Accountant

**Your role**

As the Senior General Ledger Accountant, you will play an instrumental role in managing our financial records and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of our financial data across our entities in The Netherlands and Luxembourg, as well as any new countries we expand into. Reporting directly to the Head of Accounting, your extensive knowledge of accounting principles, your meticulous attention to detail, and your ability to work collaboratively with various teams across the organization will be key to your success in this role.

**Your key tasks**:

- General Ledger Management: Oversee all general ledger duties, including processing journal entries, ensuring accuracy of data, and maintaining a detailed ledger for all transactions. Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Month-End Close: Manage the timely completion of month-end close activities. This includes preparing journal entries, completing complex account reconciliations, and preparing financial reports.
- Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for the Head of Accounting, detailing status and activities. Highlight any outstanding items and propose appropriate actions.
- Internal Controls: Adhere to internal controls and accounting policies. Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Audit Assistance: Support the Head of Accounting and the rest of the accounting team during internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and answering queries related to the general ledger.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis on balance sheet accounts to help identify business trends and opportunities for improvement.

**You have these claims to fame**:

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a general ledger or similar role;
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, especially related to general ledger management;
- Experience with accounting software and systems;
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Professional accounting certification (e.g., CMA, CGA, ACCA);
- Experience working in the dynamics of a scale-up company;
- Experience and knowledge of the accounting standards and practices of The Netherlands and Luxembourg;
- Proficiency in automation and process improvement in finance and accounting.
