About the role
The Legal team turns complexity into clarity by partnering with teams across Revolut to provide sharp, practical advice that helps the business move fast while staying protected. From structuring credit programmes to navigating new markets, the Legal team ensures growth is secure, compliant, and built for the long term. We're looking for a Legal Counsel to play a pivotal role in expanding our investment offering, taking the lead on legal due diligence for illiquid assets, and overseeing complex fund formation processes. - Overseeing the structuring of complex investment vehicles (e.g., AIFs, ELTIFs, UCITS, SPVs, PCCs) to support new business initiatives
- Leading legal due diligence on underlying private market transactions, including managing deal execution and reviewing organisational documents for various investment structures
- Ensuring full regulatory compliance with frameworks, such as AIFMD, MiFID II, and PRIIPs, to legally enable the distribution of alternative assets to a broad customer base
- Partnering with commercial teams and senior leadership to scope and launch new investment features for diverse customer segments
- Identifying and managing legal and regulatory risks in relation to alternative investment products, specifically regarding operational and compliance risks for private market funds
- Providing clear, actionable judgement, balancing commercial goals with regulatory constraints in the alternatives space

What you'll need

- A master's degree or equivalent in law, with excellent academic and law firm credentials
- 5+ years of experience in wealth and trading (investment services, financial markets, and/or asset management)
- Experience as a private-practise lawyer at a top law firm
- Expertise in advising customers on MiFID II, MiFIR, EMIR, PRIIPS, and UCITS implementation, and providing legal support in relation to associated policies and contractual frameworks
- Knowledge of fund formation (AIFs, ELTIFs, SPVs) and transactional drafting/execution (legal DD, SPVs, ROFRs)
- A business-oriented mindset to find actionable solutions to legal and regulatory challenges
- Ownership skills and the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations
- A good understanding of financial markets and complex financial instruments
- Exceptional project management and communication skills, including the ability to oversee implementation of complex projects
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolutions
