POSITION PURPOSE

The primary purpose of the Risk and Swing Pricing Manager role, which will sit within the firm’s EMEA Risk Management team, is to manage all matters related to swing pricing outside the United States. In addition, the role will contribute to the fulfillment of investment and operational risk requirements applicable to T. Rowe Price’s EMEA-domiciled comingled products distributed outside of the United States, including UCITS, UK UCITS, AIFs and segregated mandates.

PRIMARY Responsibilities
- Modernizing the swing pricing process: To continue adhering to best in class market practices in the various jurisdictions in an efficient manner, the SPWG is modernizing the current process by enhancing the current operating model. The individual will initially participate in the modernization exercise that he/she will then be responsible for implementing, in collaboration with the multiple teams involved in the process.
- Performing ongoing swing pricing calculations and ensuring the firm’s process remain aligned with industry best practices: In his/her permanent role, the individual will have ongoing responsibility for ensuring the swing pricing process operates properly, issues are quickly remediated, back-testing is performed, questions are properly answered, reporting performed timely and T. Rowe Price practices remain aligned with industry standards.

SECONDARY Responsibilities

As the swing pricing modernization exercise referred to above draws to an end, we expect the incumbent’s responsibilities to partially shift towards investment and/or operational risk management. Depending on the individual selected, this may include:

- Implementing the Risk Management Procedure: To ensure T. Rowe Price (Luxembourg) Management S.à r.l. (the “Management Company”) complies with regulatory requirements and internal policies for Luxembourg and UK comingled products; and to verify the consistency of each sub-fund’s actual risk levels with its risk profile.

This may primarily involve analyzing the daily investment risk reporting (market risk / VaR, back-testing, coverage, leverage, counterparty risk, and liquidity) coming from multiple risk systems and tools, performing reasonability checks, investigating any reporting issues detected, liaising with the firm’s broader Investment Risk team where required and escalating any exceptions to the Conducting Officers, the person responsible for the permanent risk management function and Portfolio Managers.

This may also involve the timely production and distribution of high-quality standard or periodic risk reports to the Conducting Officers/Executive Committee of the Management Committee, the various Management Committee and Fund Boards, the Portfolio Management team, clients, auditors, and regulators.
- Participating in the global risk monitoring efforts: As part of the firm’s Enterprise Risk Management team, assist on global projects regarding regulatory and IT developments.

This may involve participating collaboratively on global and international risk initiatives, framework and system improvements or risk investigations. The incumbent may be required to understand the requirements laid down by various global regulations governing our funds distributed globally.

This may involve defining the risk profile of the Management Company and its branches in line with the company’s risk management framework, identifying all the risks related to their activities and establishing a monitoring program. This may also include the readiness assessment of local and global projects as well as for the launch of new products and funds.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Master degree or equivalent in finance, mathematics, or a related field
- Good understanding of Luxembourg and European swing pricing / antidilution mechanisms and risk management requirements with prior exposure to UCITS and AIFs and proven relevant work experience of minimum 5 years
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- IT and programming skills highly preferred
- Strong self-motivation and a demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Good organization skills, intellectual curiosity, and pro-activeness
- Good interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to work as a team and reconcile differing views, but also demonstrating the ability to work independently to deliver results

Professional accreditation such as CFA or FRM would be a plus
