We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join the AMZL Design and Construction team as a Senior Sustainability Manager. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping and implementing AMZL's Sustainability program, playing a key part in our strategic development efforts. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing and driving sustainable practices and strategies throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on minimizing environmental impact and advancing our commitment to Sustainability. This includes establishing the team's strategy and roadmap for Sustainability priorities, as well as executing tactical initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and promote resource-positive projects across our existing and future building portfolio.
This position presents a unique opportunity that combines elements of planning, project/program management, sustainability, and construction. You will collaborate closely with our construction, sustainability, operations, and engineering teams, as well as engage with external stakeholders such as vendors. Effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are essential in order to foster consensus among multiple internal and external stakeholders. A pragmatic and results-oriented approach is crucial to drive progress.
To excel in this role, you should possess troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and thrive in a technical environment. Your ability to manage projects, adapt quickly, and stay motivated will be key to success. You will also have a genuine interest in identifying and promoting sustainable building opportunities within Amazon. Continuous learning and staying up to date with Amazon's business, platform, and relevant technologies will be important in making informed decisions and driving impactful outcomes.

Key job responsibilities
- Independently lead the development and implementation of AMZL's Sustainability program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Influence internal/external teams to deliver timely results through constructive dialogue, communicating, coordinating, leading and influencing, weighing risks and making decisions.
- Insists on the highest standards from yourself and others.
- Report on project progress to a variety of different audiences and stakeholders
- Identify opportunities related for sustainability providing value-add for our customer and develop strategies for scaling and implementation
- Oversee sustainable practices and strategies throughout the project lifecycle to minimize environmental impact.
- Integrate sustainable design practices into D&C mechanisms and function as key SME working with cross-functional teams to develop business cases and develop innovative solutions tailored to AMZL EU needs
- Stay informed about relevant technologies and industry trends to identify and leverage sustainable building opportunities.
- Developing and delivering training programs to internal teams to enhance their understanding and knowledge of practices driving Sustainability, Quality and Health & Safety
- Providing regular reports, updates, and presentations to senior management on the progress, impact, and benefits of sustainability initiatives.
- Managing program budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful completion of projects within established parameters.
