Postdoctoral Data Management Specialist

The **Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB)** is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg. We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and _in silico_. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and their contributing factors.

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for data management and a keen interest in clinical and medical research? We are seeking a** Postdoctoral Data Management Specialist** to play a pivotal role in our project, where we aim to collect, manage, and report valuable health data. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the biomedicine field.

**Your Role...**:
The position is part of the LEOPARD project, funded by Horizon Europe. LEOPARD aims to create advanced algorithms and tools to enhance liver transplant patient prioritization, address organ shortage challenges, and reduce access disparities, positioning Europe as a leader in organ transplantation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Data Management strategy that outlines data collection, standards, sharing, curation, and preservation.
- Coordinate and facilitate data collection efforts, ensuring compliance with established standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Bioinformatics Core and ELIXIR-Luxembourg team to provide timely reports according to project milestones.
- Create and maintain a data dictionary by processing electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs) from various datasets and prospective cohorts.
- Work alongside standardization initiatives, such as EHDS, GA4GH, and OMOP CDM, to align with industry best practices.
- Establish and maintain a secure and robust multimodal health data management and analysis system, including a user-friendly data portal and database.
- Populate the database with harmonized clinical data and pre-processed molecular data.
- Collaborate with existing initiatives to provide necessary analytical tools within the platform.

**What we expect from you**:

- A PhD degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Management, Data Science, Health/Bio Informatics).
- Strong technical background with proven experience in programming (preferably in Python, R, or Java) for data engineering, ETL, ELT, and analysis tasks.
- Experience in data engineering and analysis within the biological, clinical or medical research domain.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration skills, capable of working harmoniously with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have:

- Experience with ETL/ELT/analytics platforms like KNIME, and database systems like Postgres or Mongo.
- Knowledge of data standards and best practices in the healthcare and research industry.
- Familiarity with data security, GDPR compliance, and DPIA processes.
