Blackstone Europe Fund Management S.à r.l. (BEFM) is a Luxembourg private limited liability company authorized by the
_Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier_ (CSSF) as an alternative investment fund manager (AIFM) in accordance with the Law of 12 July 2013 on alternative investment fund managers, as amended.
BEFM manages alternative investment funds (AIFs) in a variety of asset classes including private equity, real estate, credit and hedge fund solutions. BEFM also is also authorized to manage separately managed accounts (SMAs) with a combination of these asset classes.
**Job Description**:
Seeking an Associate for a newly established BEFM Fund Finance Oversight team (FFO), which will primarily be responsible for the oversight of the delegated activities and reporting.
**Responsibilities**:
This individual will report to the local Vice-President and be a key member of the FFO team responsible for:
- Delegation Oversight: responsible for oversight on certain delegated functions including Central Administrations, Depositary Banks, IT, Accounting and Internal Audit
- Ongoing monitoring of the delegated activities: due diligences, KPIs
- Implement, enhance processes: operating memorandum
- Day to day contact for delegates and other key vendors
- Control budget and fees
- Depositary Banks coordination: responsible for the timing delivery of the evidence of the ownership of the assets within the Group
- Coordination of the processes in relation to the safekeeping of financial instruments and other assets
- Coordination of the due diligences needed (e.g. sub-custodian)
- Enhance a more robust and efficient process related to the collection of pre-deal information and portfolio reconciliation
- Reporting: responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of regulatory and financial reporting (e.g., Audits, Tax, AIFMD Annex IV, AIFMD Annual Reports)
- Coordination and review of the regulatory and financial reporting, before filing to the competent authorities and key shareholders
- Coordination of the contractual and statutory audits as well as tax compliance
- Effective and Efficient Operations: management of the FFO offshore consultants, ensuring that responsibilities and tasks are appropriately assigned and monitored
- Participate in re-engineering initiatives to drive enhancements to FFO, support launch of new fund onboardings and delegates and actively participate in Blackstone Technology operating and development priorities
- Maintain and develop policies and procedures, ensuring a strong collaboration with the regulatory watch team
Qualifications & Skills
Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team, are highly motivated, with a sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or similar discipline
- +4 years of relevant financial services industry experience (e.g., Depositary Bank, Audit/Advisory) with good understanding of Depositary Banks obligations and alternative industry operations
- Knowledge of the local regulatory requirements in relation to UCI Part II (FCP, SICAV), RAIF funds as well as in relation to AIFM (e.g., circ. CSSF 18/698, 18/697, 22/811)
- Previous exposure to regulatory reporting is an asset (e.g., AIFMD Annex IV reporting)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and consistently and proactively delivers accurate, high-quality work
