DESCRIPTION: Are you an Innovative Engineer that wants to design the next generation of world-class fulfillment centers and logistics systems across the globe? Do you want a high level of ownership in solving complex problems? Does the idea of designing Intralogistics systems that leverage ground breaking automated Material Handling Equipment, packaging technologies and robotics appeal to you? If so, we have the job for you Your projects will include green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits. Our team to designs fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, specialty facilities (ex. reverse logistics, hazmat) and ground and air transportation centers throughout North America and Europe. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch. Key job responsibilities
- Invent, design, and implement engineering solutions to complex material flow/transformation and human/machine efficiency problems throughout the global Amazon supply chain.
- Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the fulfillment and transportation network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects
- Effectively communicate the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives. About the team You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment designing the next generation of world-class fulfillment centers and logistics systems. You will work on high impact, high visibility projects; You will be challenged; You will learn; You will grow. - BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent
- Experience with design & innovation and research & development
- Experience in management of engineering design projects
- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
- Knowledge of concepts like system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience with design-in-safety
